Andrea Bocelli and son, Matteo offer a stunning cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect Symphony”. Matteo does a great job of singing in English while father, Andrea compliments him by singing an Italian translation.
“Well I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know
She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I'll share her home
I found a love, to carry more than just my secrets
To carry love, to carry children of our own
We are still kids, but we're so in love
Fighting against all odds
I know we'll be alright this time
Darling, just hold my hand
Be my girl, I'll be your man
I see my future in your eyes”
Clearly, Matteo has inherited his father’s passion for singing and his ability to communicate feeling through his song is every bit as moving as Andrea. The recent release of their sensational “Fall on Me” duet continues to garner new fans. For those who may not be classical music lovers, hearing these classically trained voices successfully tackle pop songs such as “Perfect Symphony” proves the Bocelli’s enormous crossover abilities.
Andrea shares what it’s like to sing with his son and blend their vocals in a performance. “Technically they are very different, but there is one thing that makes them most similar: the attitude. That characteristic way of expressing yourself through your voice. This makes Matteo and I very similar. But that is something that you cannot learn, that cannot be taught. That is something you are born with.”
Indeed! They are truly blessed with an incredible God-given talent. When Andrea put his hand on Matteo’s shoulder we were all smiles! We love to hear this father and son singing and to watch them enjoying their success together is so moving.
You can hear the fear, frustration and urgency in the man’s voice as he urges the cars in front of him to go more quickly. This harrowing video of a man driving through the California wildfires with his cat is a nail-biter!
You can almost feel the suffocating heat as you stare transfixed at the screen, holding your breath to see if the driver makes it out unscathed. The fire rages around him on both sides as he fearfully ‘talks’ to the cars ahead of him, willing them to go faster, even as you know there are probably other cars ahead of them preventing them from doing so. Add the greatly reduced visibility from the smoke and you have a drive that you just know will haunt this man’s nightmares!
Along for the escape out of camera range, we can hear the man’s pet cat crying her unhappiness with the situation. He speaks soothingly to her as he drives. Finally deciding the car is going fast enough that he should stop filming.
Even watching this video, it’s hard to even fathom the amount of destruction the wildfires in California have caused this year. And it’s even harder to imagine the sheer terror this man must have felt as he drove right through the midst of it!
California has been ravaged by multiple large fires this year, starting in January with the Thomas Fire. Then in July, there was the Mendocino Complex fire. The Carr Fire was in August and now there have been three fires in November.
Atmospheric conditions in the state have meant that hot temperatures and high winds combined with an abundance of dry underbrush create the perfect circumstances for fires to grow. So far, 6,700 buildings--mostly homes--have been destroyed, and more than 25 lives were lost.
Micah Wilder was on a two-year Mormon mission trip when he realized he had everything all wrong. This powerful testimony shows what happens when God puts the right people in your path! This ex-Mormon ultimately left the Church of Latter-day Saints and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. His story about what he used to believe, and how God used people to change his heart is so powerful!
"The gospel of Mormonism is very burdensome. You're seeking to prove your worthiness to God. But in the Christian Gospel, God sent Jesus to die for us while we were still sinners."
Micah grew up in the Mormon Church and he became very eager to convert others to his religion. He was raised to believe that believing in Jesus was only the first step. That in order to gain admittance into Heaven, one must be Mormon and comply with many rules and complete a certain amount of actions for the church and others. But along the way of telling others about how good deeds or ‘works’ will get you into Heaven, God put someone in his path who shared what the Bible said, and it changed his life.
You see, the spiritual battlefield where Micah had set out to bring more Mormons into his fold, was in the middle of Orlando, Florida -- a very evangelical and Bible-based area.
“I didn’t understand this at the time and was a little naive as a young mormon missionary. But I was convinced that I was going to get to Orlando and convert everybody that I saw and be the greatest missionary ever.” Micah shared.
He continued, “And so I got there and I was being very zealous at converting others to my faith. And riding my bicycle and knocking on doors.”
“I got a little overzealous. . . and I actually attempted to convert a Baptist minister and his whole congregation to the Mormon church, which I was unsuccessful at by the way!” Micah explained.
That’s right, one of the people he was determined to convert. . . was a Baptist minister! Divine Intervention landed him in the path of the one person who would ultimately challenge Micah’s beliefs and cause him to question everything he’d been taught.
"The gospel that I was teaching in the Mormon Church was not the Gospel of God. Mormons do not believe in the all-sufficient sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on the cross.” Micah said.
Ultimately, instead of converting others to be Mormons, Micah accepted Jesus Christ. And it started a chain reaction! His family became Christians and so did his friend and Adam’s Road bandmate, Joseph Warren.
What a blessing that God put just the right person in his path for Micah to a message in such a way that Micah would truly hear. You never know when you may be that person who God chooses to be His instrument to save someone’s eternal life!
As the deadly toll of the California wildfires continue to climb, one officer found a tiny sliver of hope amid the destruction. Buried in the rubble where his home once stood, he found a “miracle” — his wife’s wedding ring emerging like a needle in a haystack.
When the fire broke out, Jake Olsen, a state Fish and Wildlife officer, rushed from his own home to help residents at a nearby retirement community. His partner hiding under a fire blanket as they sped through the dangerous fire to help those who wouldn’t be able to help themselves. Jake’s wife and four children also had to evacuate their home in Paradise, CA when the Camp Fire overtook their entire community.
Days after the wildfire destroyed the entire community of Paradise, Jake returned to his home to assess the damage. It was a total loss. A stunned Jake stood in the midst barely able to believe what he was seeing. “You can’t understand it unless you’re here. You can’t fathom it in your mind--it’s just too much to take in.” Jake shared.
The fire, which ravaged his own home, also claimed the homes of his mother and father, his wife’s parents, grandfather, uncle and sister. His entire extended family--now all living under one roof. But even though they lost everything, he’s grateful for the safety of his family, and the support of his church family. “We have a church family, and they’ve provided a house for us,” Jake shared. “There’s five households that are staying in the house together, and they’ve brought us clothes and food, and we’re good. We’re very lucky to have that family.”

The found wedding band now serves as a glimmer of a silver lining. He calls it a miracle that this symbol of their marriage would survive the fire.
“Yeah, there it is. It’s just amazing. I didn’t think we were going to find it, but we had to try. And he [a fellow officer] said, ‘Hey, here it is, man,’ so it’s pretty cool. It’s just a miracle.” Jake said.
Customers were quick to buy out this donut shop. The reason? It’s not just the tasty glazed pastries that brought them in, but an opportunity to send the owner home early so he can care for his sick wife.
Donut City is a little shop in CA owned by John and Stella Chan. They’ve been serving up tasty treats in this area for over 30 years. When the community heard Mrs. Chan was at home in recovery from a brain aneurysm, they collectively came up with a plan to help. Knowing this small business still needed to make it’s daily sales, they stepped up to buy Mr. Chan out of his supply each morning so that he could go home and care for Stella. Locals by the dozens bought dozens of donuts at a time. Lines were out the door early in the morning. One customer even stated having bought 300 donuts at a previous visit!
“Seeing everyone this morning, and being able to help out, it’s like honestly being able to see a little piece of heaven!”
The heartfelt gesture ensured Mr. Chan’s stock of fresh baked goodies were completely bought out by 7am! Customers were actually having to be turned away by the grateful owner! “I grew up in a family business... I know what it’s like when you can’t close the business down because you need to have the income to support your family but at the same time you want to be with your family. It means a lot to me that other people are willing to do that for a local business.” shared one customer with Inside Edition.
The collective care of this community showed how effective we can be when working together to make a difference in someone's life. Donut City and the Chans were well cared for thanks to these fine folks. When asked by a customer how is wife was doing, Mr. Chan did report Stella was getting better. It doesn’t take much to show you care for someone, it can be as simple as buying a dozen donuts (or 3 dozen)!
Andrea Bocelli and wife, Veronica joined together during one of his concerts to sing a well-known love song “Qualche Stupido”. With his first album release in 14 years titled “Si”, Bocelli has once again captured the hearts of listeners. We love seeing him enjoying his gift with his family, like recent hit “Fall On Me” sung with son Matteo.
“When we were in the studio making this album… we wanted somebody to demo it. Andrea said ‘My beautiful love Veronica she sings’...we loved it so much that we begged her to do it with Andrea tonight.” shared producer and pianist, David Foster.
Sitting at an intimate café table for two in the audience, Andrea and Veronica performed the sweet love song. Holding hands as they sang, it was so touching to see how much they loved each other and were enjoying this moment performing together! While the song is truly stunning sung in italian, the lyrics may be more recognizable in English:
“I know I stand in line, until you think you have the time
To spend an evening with me / And if we go someplace to dance, I know that there's a chance / You won't be leaving with me / And afterwards we drop into a quiet little place / And have a drink or two / And then I go and spoil it all, by saying something stupid / Like I love you”
About his marriage, Andrea told The Guardian “A successful relationship between two people is an art. There is a natural foundation to it. It is chemistry at play. There has to be a fatal attraction or boredom takes over, but the art lies in preserving this chemical fatal attraction and keeping it alive”
Singer / Songwriter and worship leader Pat Barrett sings “God Is So Good (You Are Worthy)” and we found ourselves instantly in a place of worship!
“No height or depth can separate
Your steadfast love we can't escape
Your faithfulness, an endless sea
So full of grace and mercy
We sing
God is so good
God is so good
God is so good
He's so good to me”
This beautiful acoustic performance of a favorite classic worship anthem “God Is So Good” reminds us of our childhood Sunday school classes and a simple belief that indeed, God IS so good! The lyrics aren’t complicated but the message is every bit as deep as the most intricate of worship songs. What an amazing God we serve!
“There's never been anyone like You
There's never been anyone like
You are worthy, You are worthy
Never been anyone like You
Never been anyone like You
You are worthy, You are worth”
Indeed He is worthy! We love the blend of these songs and their lyrics. Pat’s passion for worship is so evident in this video. Having the guitar, vocals and piano only so beautifully draw the focus on worship and we found ourselves easily singing along while watching!
“Hope is rising like the sun
The old is gone, the new has come
I fix my eyes on Christ alone
My rock, my shield, my cornerstone”
Amen! What a wonderful God we worship and adore! His promises are true, He is indeed good and cares for each one of us. We love to have this enduring and encouraging song on our hearts throughout our day!
Teenaged Sampil is a different person after receiving an Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. Once generally homebound due to cerebral palsy, he now travels freely about the city of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Hearing of Sampil’s illness keeping him from the Operation Christmas Child event, a volunteer named Chuka Bayaraa visited him at his home. As Sampil and his parents and siblings gathered in the living room, Chuka told them of God’s love expressed through Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. They were all interested, but Sampil alone made the decision to surrender his life and accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior. To Sampil’s surprise, Chuka also gave him a gift-filled shoebox that included a towel, toothbrush, and notebooks. “The notebooks really encouraged me to go back to school and study,” Sampil said. “After I got a shoebox, I became a Christian and my relationships with others changed.
Chuka saw firsthand as the “new” Sampil emerged. “He became a very happy boy. He enjoyed going to school and being with his friends. He had a very low self-esteem, but after he became a Christian his understanding of himself changed.” Sampil explained: “Before, I didn’t like children who are handicapped because they were just like me.”
Now instead of being self-conscious, he makes a point to serve by volunteering as an assistant teacher at a Christian camp for disabled children. Responsible for caring for 16- and 17-year-old students who attend, he points them to Christ, his new source of hope.
“Jesus gave me a love and a heart to talk to [the] children,” Sampil said. “My dream is to be a teacher like Brother Chuka,” he said. “I want to share the Gospel with children.”
For the past 25 years, Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, has partnered with local churches in more than 100 countries to distribute gifts to boys and girls in need and tell them about God’s Greatest Gift—Jesus Christ.
There were no dry eyes at this reunion as hundreds of U.S. Army soldiers return home to the arms of their waiting families. They worked and sacrificed their time with loved ones by selflessly serving our country overseas. It was time for the homecoming they all deserved. The 300 soldiers were deployed in Afghanistan and tasked with training Afghan security forces to fight terrorism.
This exciting homecoming took place at Fort Carson in Colorado. As families waited in the packed gym for the arrival of their beloved soldiers, the anticipation was growing. Some of the children in attendance held colorful homemade signs that read “Wanted, The coolest Dad” or “Hey Army, hand over my Daddy!”
Cheers from all over the room could be heard as the soldiers from the 2nd Infantry Brigade combat and 4th Infantry Division came marching out of white billows from a fog machine! What an entrance! U.S. Flags were waving and shouts of joy erupted as the uniformed men and women entered the gym to find their waiting families. The homecoming was so emotional to watch as children went running into the arms of their long-missed parents. One little boy, with tears streaming down his face, told the cameras how proud he was of his Daddy.
The soldiers have been on deployment since February 2018 and arrive just in time for Veterans Day. Hoping they would receive a warm welcome, some soldiers arrived to meet their brand new family members! “It’s hard to believe, I left without having a son and now I have a son!” shared one proud soldier.
We are eternally thankful for the freedoms we have because of men and women like these who sacrifice for their country. Be sure to thank a Veteran as well as their families when you see them, not just on Veterans Day but year-round!
That’s right folks, the Brady Bunch kids reunite at the real life Brady Bunch house! This reunion dubbed ‘A Very Brady Renovation’ is for HGTV and will have a very exciting mission… to renovate the inside of the real house to look like The Brady Bunch studio set! Queue the theme song: ‘Here’s the story, of the lovely Brady’...house.
The “real” house was only used for the exterior shots of The Brady Bunch. In the interview of the television show “Brady kids” it was realized that none of them had ever been inside the real house! This 1970’s 3 bedroom, 3 bath home has an interior that looks nothing like the set the kids used during the show.
When the home went on the market, it attracted some high profile buyers including Lance Bass from INSYNC. Bass really wanted to purchase the home and turn it into a Very Brady Shrine. Even Maureen McCormick, the actress who played “Marcia Brady” wanted to own it. In the end, all were outbid by HGTV who purchased the home for a whopping 3.5 million dollars and now we know why!
Some big challenges are ahead for this full renovation to look like the old television stage set. One of the biggest challenges for the renovation is turning a split level home into the famous two story with the long staircase we all know and love. Not to worry, it looks like HGTV will have many of its innovative renovators on hand, including the twins, Drew & Jonathan Scott from ‘Property Brothers.’ Watch the reunion special which will air in September of 2019.
Hold on to your shiplap, folks! Chip and Joanna Gaines announced on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that they are getting their own TV network! The dynamic duo couldn’t stay away from the cameras for long. After their television departure from “Fixer Upper” the Gaines’ welcomed their fifth child, Crew, to the family and opened a new restaurant venture “Magnolia Table”. But their fans have been eager to see them return to television. We know we’ve been eating up their interviews recently!
As the couple joins host Jimmy Fallon, they show off some starstruck behavior that makes us feel like they are just one of us and not tainted by “celebrity”. Chip is clearly having a moment as he sits down and eagerly waves to the show’s house band “The Roots” while Joanna points out how excited she is to touch the famous Tonight Show desk. Chip even reaches across and takes a sharpie from Fallon’s cup as a souvenir! Jimmy doesn’t miss a beat and begins digging behind his desk for items Chip can snatch – a stuffed panda and a box of tissues are quickly stored away in Chip’s blazer! Of course it doesn’t take long for Joanna’s “Mom face” to appear as she tries to focus on the interview and reign Chip and Jimmy back in. What a hoot!
In seriousness, Jimmy mentions how the couple stepped away from television so quickly and unexpectedly. Chip openly responded that they needed to take a step back. “TV is a tough business, we came into this whole thing sort of ‘shock and awe’. We had never had any inspiration to be on television, we didn’t know anything about the business… after five years we really realized we really wanted to take a step back and really focus on our marriage, focus on our family and kinda catch our breath.”
Then Fallon asks the all important question “Would you guys ever return to TV?” True to form, the soft announcement came from Chip during The Tonight Show in a most amusing way. Focusing on the camera, the Fixer Upper star began, “We signed a non-disclosure and it said quote unquote you can tell your mother but that’s it…So mom, I just wanted to make a quick announcement, we are coming back to television! You are going to get to see the kids grow up, you are going to see us, well maybe a six-month delay like the rest of the world, but we are excited to be back.”
According to their spokesman, Discovery Inc. which owns HGTV is considering a lifestyle network for the Magnolia brand. It’s unsure how much Chip and Joanna themselves will be in front of the camera, though fans clearly want to see more of this unique partnership that makes us all appreciate our own spouse’s quirks!
“We never rule anything out and we’re go-getters,” Chip told People. “We love to live life to the fullest and sometimes the journey is unexpected to say the least.”
Clearly taking a short break from being in the homes of millions of families every week was the move the couple needed to figure out what works best for their family. As fans of the Gaines’ we couldn’t be more excited for this news and hope that it won’t be long before we have a little Magnolia love playing again on our televisions!

Judge Caprio is making the internet rounds for his soft spot for those down on their luck. He knows just how to spot the ones who need a hand up. Caprio’s caring side doesn’t disappoint when he finds out why this vet is in court.
“The smallest thing can change someone’s life,” Caprio shared with Stars and Stripes. “[My father’s] mantra was help people when you can. We were taught in life that it’s not enough to climb the ladder of success.” You have to lead down the ladder “so others can follow in your footsteps.”
A Vietnam veteran stood before Judge Caprio and shared that he was pleading guilty to his parking ticket but wanted to explain the situation. As a frequent patient at the local Veterans Affairs Hospital (V.A.) the man like others, had nowhere to park. Knowing he was parking illegally, the veteran explained that for years they had parked on these side streets thinking the parking authorities were deliberately giving them a “break”. Unfortunately, that wasn’t to be and the man was given a $100 fine.
Thankfully for the veteran, he was standing before Judge Caprio who is a veteran himself and known for his generous rulings especially towards veterans. But his appreciation doesn’t stop there, Caprio shares his soft spot for Vietnam veterans in particular.
“I have a particular affinity for all veterans,” he said. “But especially those who served in Vietnam. I remember how the vets were adored in World War II, and how they were scorned when they came home from ‘Nam. It’s a sad chapter in our history.”
What a blessing Judge Caprio is to those who are in difficult situations. Most people have had a tough season in their life, perhaps some have led to a scuffle with the law. It’s hard for those situations to right themselves. Judge Caprio’s willingness to listen and determine when the situation requires leniency is always inspiring to how we should treat others!
