Danny Gokey Leads Worship At The White House

On Tuesday, worship leaders brought Jesus to the White House through praise and song. Leaders were also seen praying for the nation together. In several different videos posted online, worship leaders and Christian artists, including Danny Gokey and We are Messengers, gathered in the White House to praise Jesus. They were singing popular worship songs like “What a Beautiful Name,” and “How Great Is Our God.” In one video clip posted to Twitter, worship leader and recording artist Tauren Wells lead the group in worship as they all sang “What a Beautiful Name.” Tauren said, “What a privilege to declare the name of Jesus in worship and in prayer today at the White House. I was challenged, informed, convicted, & inspired at the #faithbriefing with many peers in the CCM industry. The church has a great opportunity to rise with grace & truth in this hour.” Bethel Music’s Dominic Shahbon shared this about the day: “Wow. What a day. Had the honor to go the White House for a #FaithBriefing with key administration officials and faith leaders. Specifically, to hear about faith initiatives that are happening. Great things are taking place whether the media tells us or not! Let’s just say that I’m leaving Washington, D.C. stirred, hopeful, convicted and informed with TRUTH.” Another Christian artist who posted about his experience at the White House was Matt Hammitt. Matt posted a photo to his Instagram account writing, “I witnessed a truly special moment today as our Christian music community shared a time of worship and prayer in the White House. #FaithBriefing” Contemporary Christian band Citizen Way was also at the Faith Briefing, which according to Faithwire, aimed to update Faith leaders on faith-based initiatives that have been enacted under the Trump administration. Citizen Way posted a video to Instagram of the group singing “How Great Is Our God,” and captioned it, “#faithbriefing Lifting up the name of our savior Jesus at the @whitehouse with so many key figures in our @ccmmag family - our servant leaders in faith based initiatives expressed the need for us to support their causes around the nation (they are biblically based causes) and the need for us to be vocal about the fact that our only hope for our salvation, our world, our country is in our savior Jesus (they encouraged us to basically keep doing what we’re doing as well haha). Sing with us! Thank you pastor @paulamichellewhite and @jonathancainmusic for your service. . . #jesussavesbro” The gathering was organized by Pastor Paula White, the chair of President Trump’s faith advisory board who is a megachurch pastor from Florida. Her husband, former “Journey” keyboard player, Jonathan Cain, was also there. Paula posted about the event on Instagram writing, “What an amazing day at The White House ... closed out with a time of worship and prayer! I wish everyone would come up and experience this! #realnews” Credit: Christian Headlines

In That Day Part Two Nov 2018

Bible study on the Biblical prophetic of {in that day}

Bible Proof There's Life on Other Planets

In our time we have two competing points of view, that of creationists who believe the universe we see with our telescopes is empty and that of science fiction fans who believe in aliens. What does the Bible really say on this topic? This video is further to the previous one.

Dance Teacher Lost Everything To The California Fires But Didn't Miss Class

When Reesa Pertida, a dance teacher from Southern California, left her home, she knew it was for the last time. Reesa lost everything to the California Fires raging through her neighborhood, but that didn’t stop her from teaching her dance students that very same day. The dance class that students use as their safe haven, has now become the teacher’s place of refuge during her own time of loss. Reesa knew that she would probably lose everything when she and her husband evacuated. But there was no time to stop and think of all the memories she was having to leave behind, like her wedding dress and the Christmas decorations given to her by her Grandma. In order to cope with the overwhelming loss, Reesa poured her heart and soul into her dance class. "I told them," Pertida stated, "'Guys, I'm totally distracted. I didn't sleep at all. I evacuated in the middle of the night, and I wanted to come dance with you.'" Ms. Pertida’s loyalty to her students helped inspire them to round up support when she needed it most. The relationships forged in this high school class have developed throughout the years and these kids hold their teacher in high regard. Seeing her hurting moved them to help. “Even the day that she was evacuated at 2 a.m. in the morning, she came to school and told us, ‘hey, I’m here to dance with you, because what good is it gonna do for me to just sit at an evacuation center and watch the news? I’m here for you guys to dance,’” Brandon Large recalled. Knowing the wanted to bless their teacher, students Elizabeth Talledo, Chelsea Saldana, Madison Opalisky and Brandon Large, joined together and raised $500 but then realized they wanted to do more. Together, they started a GoFund Me page with a goal of $5000 and with such a great response have moved the goal to $15,000. So far, they have raised over $10,000 to help their beloved teacher! Reesa is overwhelmed with the outpouring of love from her students and the community. “It’s so nice,” she said. “I felt so loved. That makes up for all the pain and sadness.” We pray for those who are affected by the California fires. Please keep them all in your prayers too as they face this devastating experience.

The Hound + The Fox Sing Acoustic 'Winter Song'

Husband and wife team, The Hound and The Fox, perform this stunning acoustic of the “Winter Song” featuring talented musician Jenika Marion. Based in Oregon, Reilly and McKenzie Zamber love to use their talents to write their own music as well as cover personal favorites. Opening with Jenika singing the first verse with her crystal vocals and then into tight harmony with McKenzie, we already love this cover of the “Winter Song”! The folk-styling of this song is a beautiful mix with these talented artists vocals and instrumental abilities. As Reilly joins the women singing, their harmonies are delightfully rounded out. “My voice; a beacon in the night. My words will be your light, To carry you to me. Is love alive? Is love alive? Is love They say that things just cannot grow Beneath the winter snow, Or so I have been told.” “Winter Song” was written by artists Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson. The song reminds us of the slumber of winter and promise of spring. It’s a simple tale of love and wanting your special someone to find their way home to welcoming arms. While not exactly a holiday tune, with mentions of December in the later verses it is eerily reminiscent to how we feel this time of year. It can be a little dark and gloomy, even lonely, but there is an excitement in the air thinking of the new life that is about to start in the future! “I still believe in summer days. The seasons always change And life will find a way.” There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. -Ecclesiastes 3:1

13-Year-Old Reagan Strange You Say Performance on The Voice

13-Year-old Reagan Strange sang her heart out in a touching performance of Lauren Daigle’s hit “You Say” on The Voice. Performing as part of “Team Adam” the young girl ended up singing the song at the same time that Daigle was on Dancing With The Stars performing the piece! Memphis, Tennessee native, Reagan Strange is one of five contestants this season of The Voice under the age of 18. As a young competitor, she had to really stay focused and work to channel emotion into her pieces. Something that the judges had shared was difficult for young performers but Reagan had no problems putting emotion into her performance of “You Say.” “You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing / You say I am strong when I think I am weak / And You say I am held when I am falling short / When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours / And I believe , oh I believe / What You say of me / Oh, I believe” Clearly coach Adam Levine was happy with Reagan’s performance as he commented, “Reagan is becoming the star I knew she was the second I laid eyes on her.” After the performance, Levine told her “Reagan, you epitomize everything that this show stands for because of the purity of what you do. And the clarity of how you do it is just astounding, and it filled this entire room with your voice.” Of her time on the show, Reagan shares with the Daily Memphian, “Thank you so much for supporting me and being the world to me.' The fact that I could make it this far. The fact that people have been taking time out of their day really means a lot and I just want to thank them for their support.”

God Sent An Angel To A Desperate Woman Trapped In Car Filling With Water

Divine intervention brought Kelly Carter and Police Detective Roger Shearin together, for sure. And just in time, too, so this brave officer could save the woman trapped in a sinking car. Kelly Carter of Nash County, North Carolina, was heading home from a job interview one rainy day when things got bad, fast. Her vehicle hydroplaned on a back road and crashed into a pond. “I don’t remember a whole lot. It all happened so fast,” she said of the accident. Before Kelly could get out of the car, water started pouring in. The frantic woman trapped in a sinking car with no escape tried calling 911. But her cell phone was already waterlogged and the operator was having trouble hearing her. It was going to take a miracle to get Kelly out of the car in time. “Detective Shearin’s hours are earlier in the day, and on Monday only, the only day that I’ve ever told Detective Shearin not to come in at his normal time, I asked him to come in at 4 o’clock, and work from 4 to 8, because we had a board meeting,” Middlesex Police Chief Mike Collins said. By this point, Kelly was barely keeping her head above water and she thought for sure she’d drown. The brave officer wasted no time. Detective Roger Shearin dove into the water and went to work trying to free Kelly. Shearin stood on the roof of Kelly’s car and eventually managed to pry open the passenger-side door. He then pulled the woman trapped in a sinking car safely to the shore. “Definitely my guardian angel,” Carter said. “The Lord definitely put him in a place where he needed to be, and I’m thankful for that. I’m thankful for another day.” The humble officer tried to keep a big deal from being made of his rescue. “What I did was a simple human gesture," said Detective Roger Shearin. “I did what anyone else in this room would have done and I give the credit to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ because He is who got us through this."

93-Year-Old Plays 'Just As I Am' On Musical Saw

During his 93rd birthday celebration, Mr. Donald Berryman displayed his talents by playing ‘Just As I Am’ on the musical saw. Not your typical orchestral instrument, Mr. Berryman entertained his party guests with a unique performance of this classic hymn. Playing the saw was a popular act in the old Vaudeville shows in the early part of the 20th century. Now the instrument is somewhat of a novelty that most have never heard. Donald first heard the saw played in 1942 when he was 16 years old. He was so moved, he ran home and grabbed a saw from the shed. Donald made a makeshift bow and got to work learning his craft! “The saw has a sustaining tone. It doesn’t need more than just a touch,” he said while performing the anthem. “My knee is the vibrato. You don’t need much pressure. The more you bend (the saw) the higher the sound.” Berryman’s father was also a gifted musician but on more traditional instruments such as the violin, piano, and harmonica. But Donald didn’t want to learn a traditional instrument, for him playing by ear was his God-given talent. He’s played in churches, community centers, retirement homes and even Wisconsin’s state capitol! “I never would have had the patience to learn notes. I wanted to play by ear,” he said. “Two different choir directors have said my (saw) playing keeps the choir in tune because I have perfect pitch. I can’t read a note of music. I don’t know A from B. It’s all in my head. If I can hum it or whistle it or sing it, I can play it on the saw.” With a sound that is a mix of harp and violin, the saw is a unique instrument not heard as much as in days past. But it lends itself beautifully to playing hymns and that’s just what Donald is doing so well in this video! As the pianist plays the chords, Donald played melody on his $8 hardware saw and homemade bow! At 93 years young, this musician showed he’s still got it!

19-year-old Girl Sang Her Way Through Brain Surgery to Save Her Talent

This 19-year-old girl sang her way through brain surgery to preserve her musical talents. Kira Iaconetti loves to sing and act but when an MRI showed a brain tumor, her passion was at risk. Kira was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy called “musicogenic epilepsy”. Seizures are triggered by listening to music or singing. Clearly, Kira needed a miracle. “It was like a light switch turned off in my brain,” she said in an interview with Seattle Children’s Hospital. “Suddenly, I was tone deaf, I couldn’t process the words in time with the music and I couldn’t sing.” The only option was to perform an “awake craniotomy” in which Kira would be awake as the surgeon worked to remove the tumor. “...the tumor was right inside the area of my brain that controls my hearing and singing ability,” Kira said. “Messing with it could permanently affect my voice, and because Dr. Hauptman knew how important it is to me to continue singing and acting, he wanted to be very careful when removing the tumor. He didn’t want to interfere with my ability to sing.” In order to have the best chance of preserving her musical abilities, Kira was asked to sing while in surgery. If the doctors noticed a difference in her voice they knew to avoid that specific area. “Her voice is so beautiful and her willingness to do something new helped make the whole process interactive, collaborative and exciting.” shared Dr. Shurtleff. The surgery appears to have been a miraculous success and Kira was up playing guitar and singing while still in the hospital bed. It appears her episodes have been stopped and she is looking forward to using her God-given talents in the future!

Doctors Said He Was Dying But God Sent Adam York A Miracle

If there is one thing we know, it’s that God often has different plans for us than the world may think! Last Christmas, Adam York celebrated with family before being hit with flu symptoms. Days later he was on life support. Doctors said he was going to die, but God sent Adam York a miracle! Adam rarely got sick and never received a flu shot. When his symptoms began, his family never expected to see their loved one slip into a coma for two months. When he first entered the hospital, Adam’s flu had turned to viral pneumonia; his lungs were filling with fluid. None of the doctor’s treatments were working and he was on 100% oxygen. Felicia York, Adam's wife shared "It got really bad. They were telling me ‘there’s nothing else we can do.’ We were watching his oxygen levels drop, drop, drop." When the doctors were determined that there was nothing more they could do and that Adam’s passing was imminent, Felicia turned to the Father for help. "I prayed," Felicia said. "I stayed there two hours by his bed praying." His doctor tried again to draw fluid off of his lungs. After previous attempts there wasn’t much hope, but this time they were miraculously successful. Adam began to recover shortly after that with full brain function. The hospital staff were shocked. "One of my doctors came in and he had told me he didn’t believe in miracles but he came in the room and said ‘I don’t know what that means to you, but you’re a miracle,'" Adam said. "A lot of crazy things that shouldn’t have happened – did." Adam’s story didn’t end there. As a result of the trauma his body went through, he was paralyzed. But his family kept on praying and Adam miraculously recovered over time and is now able to walk with light assistance. Because of their experiences, Adam and Felicia are now pursuing career changes into the nursing field so that they can be a blessing to others in need. “I’d say God first, prayer second, doctors third,” Adam shared about his recovery. “The doctors and the nurses – none of them have an explanation for why I’m alive.”

John Waller 'Awakening (The Coffee Song)' New Release (Official Music Video)

Singer / Songwriter John Waller continues to use his talents to encourage and uplift, “Awakening (The Coffee Song)” is no exception. This father of nine children is no stranger to the need for a little coffee and a LOT of Jesus! Filmed on the streets of New York City, “Awakening (The Coffee Song)” is the perfect blend (see what we did there?) of taking something we may love, like coffee and realizing that Jesus pairs beautifully with it. Because ultimately, anything we do should be the perfect pairing for Jesus, and if it’s not then we might want to take a harder look at our life choices! “Gimme a good cup of coffee Gimme a word that rocks me A whole lotta Jesus and little caffeine You are my awakening The world that waits out the front door Let it wait just a bit more Cuz I need Jesus and a little caffeine You are my awakening” John Waller and family are no stranger to reevaluating and praying through the next big steps in life. Former front man for ‘According to John’ took a leap with his wife, Josee, and moved from the East Coast to Colorado where he became a worship pastor. Then came the solo music career and touring. It wasn’t long before God brought him to a place where another big step in life was imminent and brought about another move and another change...and more steps of faith. "This is by far the most fun I've ever had making a music video," said John Waller. "Most of my songs are somewhat deep and thought-provoking. This is a simple song about Jesus and coffee and how the two go very well together. After my wife and I went went from 5 kids to 9 in one year--we tried to adopt one child and ended up adopting 3 siblings from Ukraine and had our sixth biological child on top of that--we began praying about other ways to support our large family. Josee, my wife, came up with the idea of doing something with coffee. Crazy Faith Coffee was born! We LOVE amazing coffee and we love great stories of crazy faith. We combined the two with a Cracker Jacks-like concept. We decided to put stories inside bags of coffee! It's so much fun!' We think John’s “Coffee Song” is going to unexpectedly touch a lot of people and hopefully like his other songs, become a word of encouragement to keep Jesus first and pray through your decisions (with a cup o’ joe, of course!)

The Skit Guys Offer Powerful Message In 'Attention To Thankfulness'

The Skit Guys return with another meaningful video, this one titled ‘Attention to Thankfulness.’ As a family sits at a dinner table together, not one is paying attention to the rest of the family around them. Instead their focus is set on their mobile phones – texting, playing games, and taking selfies. That’s when Grandpa does something a little strange and he catches the family’s eye. As the rest of the family sat in their own digital worlds, Grandpa picked up the television remote and began swiping, tapping, and posing for selfies with the remote. When the family noticed his odd behavior, they looked on with worried looks. Once all eyes were on him, he shared an important message. “I just want to take this opportunity to tell you how thankful I am for all of you. I’m thankful for this meal… I’m thankful for this family, watching you grow and follow your dreams. It’s an honor to pray for each of you when I go to bed every night.” Grandpa’s example led the rest of the family to follow suit, sharing the things for which they were most thankful. How much we can all learn from this simple two minute skit. Perhaps we need to refocus our attention on those around us, to be present and in the moment. We should not only be thankful for one another and our blessings but let’s start SHARING with each other and encouraging others to put into words how they have been blessed!

Fixer Upper Star Chip Gaines Offers Funny Advice

HGTV’s Fixer Upper star, Chip Gaines offers funny advice from his Charlie Brown-esque advice booth. And his first few suggestions are just about as spot on as Lucy Van Pelt! Chip and Joanna Gaines are back in the spotlight after a hiatus from their Fixer Upper show, we’re happy to see them making the rounds again! Of course, Chip is known for his off-the-wall humor and childlike antics. Who better to spoof Lucy’s advice booth as we enter into the holidays where the Peanuts characters are a staple tradition just as much as turkey and ham! Q: “My boyfriend hates desserts, should we break up?” A: “Drop that fool like a hot potato! I’m positive that this guy is no good… for you!” Of course, it’s all fun and games. (Please don’t drop your boyfriend if they don’t like dessert. This might be God’s way of giving you a second portion of cherry pie!) After a few silly questions, Chip moves from funny man to serious advice-giver. Q: “ What’s your best advice for starting over and finding my passion?" A: “....When is the best time to plant a tree? And the answer is 25 years ago. When’s the second best time to plant a tree and the answer is TODAY.” But Chip was prepared to go so much deeper with the next question. It’s something that is weighing heavy on many of our hearts. Q: “I’m concerned with the current state of the world. What’s one thing I can do to make a difference?” Without skipping a beat, Chip offered sage advice: “Volunteer. You walk by somebody that looks like they need a helping hand, talk to them.... We forget that other people exist. And that other people might need an encouraging word from us today, so if you are looking to BE encouraged, encourage somebody in the process and it usually goes both ways!” What an important reminder to put others first and take the moment to love on someone else!

'His Eye is on the Sparrow' - Somer Smith Audition for The Voice

Somer Smith is a talented Gospel singer from Melbourne, Australia. We love that she chose a classic hymn, ‘His Eye Is on the Sparrow’ for her audition for the competition singing TV Show ‘The Voice Australia.’ The lyrics to this hymn are so beautiful! His Eye is On The Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home, When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He: His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free, For His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me. “Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear, And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears; Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free, For His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me. Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise, When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies, I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free, For His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me.

Julia Roberts Opens Up About Her Husband And Tears Up at A Remark

Superstar of screens large and now small, Julia Roberts gives a candid interview about her personal life as well as her new TV series “Homecoming” now on Amazon Prime. The interview was run by NBC’s Harry Smith, who cordially let the actress open up about work-life, the new show and even about the fine balance of being a soccer mom to mostly teenage kids. During the chat with host Harry, Julia’s glowing personality was in full force. Smiles and laughter were exchanged. Julia’s signature smile was on full display and it was obvious she felt very comfortable with Smith. As he describes her role in the new television series “Homecoming”, he points out the importance of the character being a good listener. Julia is quick to point out “Well, it should always be important all the time, to everybody!” Then Harry shared some early clips of the superstar’s first appearance opposite actor Don Johnson on camera via the hit show “Miami Vice.” What a flashback! As the interview progressed to more serious topics, Julia opened up about her husband’s influence in her life. “I give him a lot of credit. Not that I am a different person, but that he has helped me protect my person” When asked about raising her three [almost] teenagers in today’s world, “Mom” Julia shares how she tries to protect them from social media. “… I don’t really understand what they need that for right now.” Roberts admits that she just joined Instagram herself this past Summer! Sarcastically she quips, “I felt it was my responsibility to social media to make my presence felt. We just don’t have the 50 year old house-wife perspective represented enough on Instagram” What was most touching was Julia’s reaction when Harry shared “When you have the opportunity to sit and have a conversation with Julia Roberts, and she laughs, either at you or at herself, it is a thing of just abundant joy!” That’s when the usually very collected actress found herself visibly moved. “Harry… You are determined to make – I’ve been fighting tears honestly this whole time we’re sitting here talking. You’re determined to make me watery!”
