There is a time when the people of God have an open door set before them and they could cross over and enter in. God sets an open door before every generation. This open door is the finished work of Calvary. We can no longer draw back! We must press on and possess the land! God has opened the door to maturity, strength, and faith. Now is the time to enter in by faith! The way has been opened; the Accuser of the Brethren has been cast down. Do you want to be made well? God had brought the people of Israel to the entrance of the Promised Land for a second time. The first time they refused to enter so they were brought through years of refinement, trial, and purification in the wilderness. God has purified them of their former lack of faith. God reminds them at the border of the Promised Land of all that He had done. But it comes down to a trial of the will. Are they willing to enter in? We must remember what God has done and enter in by faith! We must be free of our self-sufficient attitude! We must live by faith and completely depend upon the Lord! To live by faith is to acknowledge that God is our only provision. We must come to Him in weakness and humility! The land that the Lord has promised is a land of provision of all things they need. They will lack nothing. But even in this there is a danger and a warning. pilgrimspathway.org
"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." To be meek we must put our "self" aside and attain a "turn the cheek" mentality which does not mean we are brutalized. This signifies that we are never deterred, distracted or detoured from God's plan for us. This is our "inheritance on earth" to live for Him according to His Will for us!
If you are a born‐again believer, what was the pitch that sold you on Jesus? If your experience was like that of most people, I assume your motives for surrendering your life to Jesus were self‐serving. Join the crowd. Most of us were sold on Jesus as a way to get out from under our guilt and shame. Or we had some other problem with no human solution. But if we get stuck at this stage in our relationship with Jesus, we effectively gut the potential of our relationship with Him. Tim LeBlanc happened to be awake at 2 am and decided to check on his 12-year-old daughter. That's when he discovered his daughter was gone and her window was open. His heart sank as he rounded the corner and found her in the arms of a child predator. Thankfully this dad got his daughter back and got the predator to the police! To try to walk by faith, and yet plan for any contingencies in case God doesn't deliver is a plan to wreck your faith. Imperfect products made by imperfect people require contingency plans. Faith is the substance of the hope we have in God. Faith is the belief that God is. Faith is to know that God exists—to the extent that I am willing to risk anything and everything—and to walk by faith in Him, without any contingency plan. So on her birthday this 13-year-old girl went through her closet to find a pair of shoes she could give him.
