Pianist Helps Man With Alzheimer's Find Lost Music

68-year-old Steve Goodwin and his wife Joanie have been facing one of the toughest battles a couple can go through. Steve has Alzheimer’s Disease. Anyone who has fought this heartbreaking disease will tell you certain parts of losing your memory hurt way more than others. For Steve, the part that hurts the most is losing the music. Steve is a software developer who loves to play the piano. For most of their marriage Steve wrote beautiful masterpieces for Joanie songs. Those songs are a piece of who Steve is and sadly they are a piece that Alzheimer’s is trying to take away. So when Steve sat down and tried to play some of the songs by memory and the songs stopped coming, this couple knew they needed to do something. Steve had never bothered to write the songs down, since no one prepares for Alzheimer’s to come knocking. That’s when their friend Naomi, a talented pianist, stepped in to help. For the past 2 years, Naomi has worked to piece together and save Steve’s songs. The songs are now recorded so that they will never truly be lost. And when you hear the new song that Steve was able to write with Naomi's help, you’ll be reaching for the tissues. It is no wonder that the world is becoming captivated by Steve and Joanie’s story.

Pastor Explains The 4 Kinds Of Christmas

Pastor and writer Glen Scrivener knows that Christmas can bring out the best and worst in people. Ultimately, it all boils down to four kinds of Christmas and we all know someone who represents each one of these. The first type is the Scrooge the person who sees nothing but darkness and foolishness. Then there is the shopper. This is the one who is focused on gifts and nothing else. They think Christmas is all about the presents and will send themselves into debt for all the wrong reasons. The third type of Christmas person is the Santa. This is the person who is caught up in the superficial reasons for the season such as the parties, the ugly sweaters, and expecting that things and events will make them truly happy. But it is the fourth Christmas that is the one that really matters. That is the Christmas of the Savior. The fourth Christmas knows the real reason for the season and that is the gift of Jesus Christ. This is the Christmas we should all celebrate. Man this is a powerful message and I am so glad it was shared!
