20-year-old Joseph O'Brien had no problem impressing the judges with his first audition on America’s Got Talent. Joseph is just a small town boy from Columbia, Tennessee, but this shy guy blew everyone away with his rendition of the famous 80’s song ‘Hello’ from Lionel Richie. He even managed to get a smile from Simon during that first performance.
Today, Joseph is back on stage for another round and he’s hoping to get the same reaction from the judges. Just watch as he sits behind the piano and starts to play ‘Can’t Fight This Feeling’ from REO Speedwagon. But before he got halfway through the song, Simon stopped the music and said, “I think you’re overthinking everything right now. You’ve got a great voice. I’m just frustrated because I didn’t love that song choice.”
That’s when he asked Joseph to perform another song and the young man decided to play an original that he personally loved. For the second time, Joseph sat behind the piano and started to belt out the lyrics to his song ‘The Average.’ It’s obvious the faces of the judges that this song was a much better choice. Joseph seemed so much more comfortable and his passion for performing truly came through with this tune.
I’m so glad that Simon was able to see the talent behind Joseph’s voice and give him another opportunity. I definitely think we’re going to be seeing Joseph again and I hope his next performance is just as good as this one.
There’s no doubt in my mind that when God placed animals on this Earth, He truly knew what He was doing. And the animals that ultimately become our pets definitely hold a very special place in our hearts. They become a part of our family and it’s always a heartwarming relationship to witness.
Dogs, in particular, are known for their companionship and love. These furry friends will love us unconditionally and some dogs even start to take on the traits and emotions of their humans. Nobody knows more about the loyal and unconditional love of a dog than 46-year-old Danilo Alarcon.
Danilo lives in Davao, Philippines with his sidekick Digong. This sweet dog is just 7-months-old and he’s been with Danilo since he was born. Years ago, Danilo was in a motorcycle accident that left him with a spinal injury and he has been unable to walk ever since. But thankfully, Danilo has a companion like Digong to stand by his side. During a recent trip into town, Danilo was rolling down the street in his wheelchair. When you watch this clip, you can see Digong right behind his owner helping to push him along the way. It’s truly a heartwarming moment to witness and it goes to show just how amazing our animals truly are.
I know Danilo has a lifelong friend with Digong and these two are obviously very important to one another. Thank you, Lord, for placing these special creatures on this Earth and showing us what compassion and kindness is truly all about.
It was nothing short of a miracle for this female worshipper in Israel when a boulder nearly struck her down. This woman was worshipping at the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem when a 220-pound boulder became dislodged and crashed onto a raised wooden platform.
People from all over the world come to the Western Wall to worship God at this ancient structure that is more than 2,000 years old. It is truly a sacred site and a beauty to behold. Thankfully, this woman was not harmed when the boulder fell over 23 feet and nothing else was damaged. It definitely could’ve had a very different ending.
I am sure this woman was a bit shook up after the incident, but it was a close call that ended up bringing attention to this structure and other worshippers. An official with the Antiquities Authority in Israel said that dampness might’ve caused the boulder to become loose and fall down. The section is currently closed as authorities investigate the section and make sure it is safe for worshippers again. Personally, I think it was a miracle that no one was injured during this dangerous incident.
It just goes to show the amazing power of God all over the world. Maybe he was using this boulder to get our attention because now this story is being shared all over the Internet. Even the mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, is calling this moment a miracle. What did you think of this close call?
In this day and age, it's all too easy to get caught up in a world of electronics and social media. Sometimes, we are so focused on the screens in front of us that we stop noticing the world around us. For instance, have you ever been to a restaurant and looked around to see couples or groups of friends all on their phones? It’s a common sight nowadays.
You would think social media would make us more social but it seems to be having the opposite effect. We are too focused on our screens and ignoring the relationships right in front of us. This video provides an eye-opening look at social media and how it is influencing our lives and the lives of the younger generation.
People will freely give up information online and post many personal things about themselves, but when it comes to a face-to-face interaction, it’s completely lacking. This seems to go against everything that social media set out to do in the first place. And with the rise in smartphones and children getting them at such a younger and younger age, I fear that this trend will only continue to rise.
This is such a powerful statement and it will truly get you thinking about setting the phone down and taking in the simple things of life that God gave us. I'm so glad that this message is starting to spread. Next time we are online, let’s all remember this speech and not to forget the world that is all around us.
In today’s world, terrifying situations happen every second. Especially with children, in an instant you’re whole world can change. Even when you take your eyes off your kids for a split second, they can find dangerous situations to get into. That’s exactly what experts are warning of recently with a spike in washing machine incidents.
While it doesn’t happen often, children can become trapped in front loader washing machines and it can end up deadly. The machines look fun for a child to climb inside but when the door closes, many will automatically lock and start running. That’s exactly what happened to Alan and Lindsey McIver of Denver who almost lost their 3-year-old daughter Khloe to a front-loading washing machine.
Little Khloe made her way into the machine and closed the door. That’s when the airtight washing machine started to fill up with water. Her parents said that “She was screaming but you couldn’t hear her.” Thankfully, Alan and Lindsey were able to stop the machine and rescue Khloe, who only suffered a few cuts and bruises. But the situation could’ve had a very different ending if these parents hadn’t intervened. Now, these parents and other experts are warning others to be cautious around washing machines and always engage the child lock.
It only takes a few seconds for tragedy to strike, so it’s never a bad decision to take the extra time and ensure your family’s safety. I’m so glad that this family was willing to share their story and warn others about the potential dangers they might’ve not known existed.
It isn’t uncommon for children to become fascinated with a sport, movie or public figure. Kids are always looking for new ways to play make-believe or use their imaginations. 10-year-old Vincent Stio is no different than any other child. He is completely captivated by baseball. But while most kids want to be like the players, Vincent is way more interested in the umpires.
Each and every game at the Carolina Mudcats' stadium near Raleigh, you can find Vincent dressed in full umpire gear copying all of their calls and movements. When Vincent first started to become interested in umpires, his parents thought it was a phase. "It's a two-year phase at this point," his mother Maria Stio said.
But his love for the umpires doesn’t stop at the games, every day this sweet boy will put on his gear and stand in front of the TV doing the exact same thing. It’s so funny to watch him mimic the exact stance and hand movements used by the pros. And each umpire is like a start to Vincent. He even sleeps next to a box of autographed baseballs from umpires. Vincent recently took his love of umpiring one step further when he attended an umpire school to learn the tricks of the trade.
This little boy’s passion and dedication is so amazing to watch. In a day when most kids would rather be sitting in front of a phone or tablet, it’s refreshing to watch a child get out and enjoy something new. What do you think about this umpire in training?
‘What Would You Do?’ is a hidden camera show hosted by John Quiñones that puts strangers in difficult circumstances and records their actions. The reactions can range from person to person but it's always interesting to watch and see what they say afterwards. The dilemmas are always relevant to the current times and sometimes, they have actually happened in real life.
In this particular situation, 2 women are sitting down for a meal at a restaurant. As the waiter begins to take their order, they realize that he has a stutter. Over 70 million people around the world suffer from stuttering and it can last into adulthood. That’s when these women start to berate the waiter and ridicule him.
The waiter and the 2 women are all actors for the show and they are set up in a local Tom Sawyer restaurant to capture the reactions of other patrons nearby. Just watch as the actors start to make comments to the fake waiter and they even comment to other people in the restaurant that he is ‘taking forever.’ Immediately, others come to this innocent waiter’s defense and multiple people reach out to the manager over the situation. One by one, strangers continue to come to this young man's aid and it's absolutely heartwarming to witness.
I'm so glad they all stood up for this man with a stutter and let the world know that you don't have to let anything hold you back in life. What would you have done in this situation?
I’ve been rejected numerous time in my personal and professional life. It’s a hard fact of life, but each time it happens it hurts. At one point in my life, it deeply affected me and how I dealt with others. Take a minute and learn how I dealt with rejection. You might be able to apply it to your life!

The Bible tells us that there is a Heaven and a Hell. We know that God loved the world so much He made a plan for our salvation; Yet, Hell is mentioned 54 times in the Word of God. Some people choose to believe a loving God would never allow anyone to go to Hell. Let's look at what the scripture says in Another Short Devotional. Part 2 of Salvation Series
Over the years, we’ve seen a lot of different auditions on America’s Got Talent. We’ve seen everything from singers to talented dance troupes. But some of the most memorable auditions are the ones that involve the judges. Whether it’s their comments or actually have the judges participate, those are the acts that really stick out in my mind. And today’s mind-blowing audition from Aaron Crow combines all of that and more.
Aaron is a silent trick artist from Belgium. He’s been called a mentalist, magician and danger-act but once you see this act, you’ll know he’s all of these in one. When Aaron took the stage, he used a laser pointer to communicate with the judges. He pointed to Heidi Klum and guest judge Ken Jeong and encouraged them to join him on stage. Both judges were a little bit apprehensive but they agreed to take part in the trick. That’s when Aaron had Heidi take off the ring on her hand and he placed it inside of an apple.
I thought this was going to be an ordinary illusion trick but then he placed the apple on top of Heidi’s head and I knew something crazy was about to happen. With Ken holding the tray and apple, Aaron left the stage with a bow and arrow in hand and began to spin in circles while aiming.
Everyone thought there was no way he would be able to land this trick but in one shot he proved everyone wrong. And that wasn’t even the best part. You’ve got to watch this audition to see where Heidi’s ring ended up. What an incredible act!
In today’s world, a lot of crazy things can happen in an instant. You have to super careful about your surroundings and your possessions. With advanced technology and social media, you are a much easier target for thieves.
Even when we may feel safe, you never know what dangers are lurking around. For example, taxis and ride share companies such as Uber and Lift are on the rise. More and more people are using these services to get fro Point A to Point B, but there has also been numerous stories about attacks, robberies and assaults while using these type of ride shares.
Thankfully, the team at Pretty Loaded realized these dangers and decided to put together some safety tips that we should all remember. This group is always up to date on the latest trends and they make it a point to share important warnings and tips. Today, they are giving us some safety reminders when using a ride share program.
Unsuspecting riders could climb into the vehicle of a complete stranger and be taken to an unknown location. Some of the tips they share include being aware of your surroundings and making sure that you are free of distractions. Also, trust your instincts. If you feel that a situation is not right, cancel the ride. You have the ability to track the ride on your smart phone, this way you always know exactly where you are going.
This is just a few of the safety reminders that we should all pay attention to. I’m so thankful for this group for putting all this together. It could truly save a life.
24-year-old Savannah Pritchett is being called a hero after her quick-thinking helped save a woman’s life. Savannah is a clerk at the Triple R Gas and Mini Mart in Waterford. While she was working her shift, a frantic woman walked in and said that she was being kidnapped and needed Savannah’s help.
"I gave her my cell phone, I locked the door and I took her to the back and I hid her back there until the sheriffs got here and took her out of the bathroom." The woman had told her alleged kidnappers that she needed to use the bathroom and they let her. Savannah noted the woman was shaking out of fear and her instinct to help immediately kicked in.
Just a few minutes later, two teens approached the door and wanted to come inside. Thankfully, the police arrived on scene and were able to take control of the situation. Ultimately, four teens were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and sexually assaulting the frantic woman. If Savannah had not stepped up when she did and trusted her gut instinct, who knows what would’ve happened to this poor woman.
I’m just so glad that there are kind people like this store clerk in the world that aren’t afraid to stand up, even when the situation may seem scary. "I was just trying to help a woman who said she needed help." Even though she will deny it, there’s no doubt in my mind that Savannah is a hero. Don’t you agree?
It’s never easy when a loved one is serving in the military. But this is the reality that many families in our nation must deal with every single day. They are separated for their family member and must navigate the world without them for a time period. This means celebrating births, birthdays, holidays and more without them by your side. Even though we are all so proud of what these brave men and women are doing for our country, there is still a piece of our heart that aches for them to return home.
This older brother has been away from the family serving in the military. But today, he is finally coming home and he decided to give his brother the ultimate surprise. Just watch as the middle brother, Andrew, hides behind the door so that he can surprise the youngest. The entire time, he thinks that he’s going to jump out and get a big reaction for little brother, but he has no idea that the real surprise is on him.
As he stands behind the door, the baby brother walks in and that’s when Andrew jumps out to greet him. But when he turns around, he sees his big brother in the doorway and the emotions start rolling. He jumps into his brother’s arms and you can just feel his excitement, love and joy. I know he must be so glad that his big brother is home and this was the cutest way to start off the reunion.
Former Olympic alpine skier Bode Miller and his wife Morgan were faced with a tragedy that no parent ever wants to endure. In June of 2018, their 19-month-old daughter Emeline drowned in their neighbor’s pool.
Emeline, or Emmy for short, was with Morgan at the neighbor’s house visiting. While the women were chatting, Emmy snuck out of the house and found her way to the backyard pool. When Morgan realized that Emmy was missing, she ran outside to find her daughter in the pool. Even though she has only been in the water for a few minutes, Emmy couldn’t be resuscitated.
Bode and Morgan were devastated at the loss of their sweet baby girl who brought so much joy into their lives. But now, they’ve vowing to make sure that this tragedy doesn’t happen to another parent as they are spreading awareness of the dangers of drowning. In an Instagram post, Morgan posted “I pray to God no other parent feels this pain. Drowning is the number one cause of death in children ages 1 to 4.” This tragedy can happen in an instant and Morgan even called death by drowning a silent killer.
I can’t imagine the pain and heartache that this family is currently experiencing but it’s such an inspiration to see them try to help others during this difficult time. Our hearts go out to the grieving Miller family and any other family that has gone through a tragedy like this. They will certainly be in our prayers.
