Dukes of Hazzard star, John Schneider Surprises In Dancing With The Stars

Known for his roles in “The Dukes Of Hazzard” and “Smallville”, John Schneider is no stranger to live television. In fact, at aged 58, he’s the oldest of this year’s Dancing With The Stars celebrities. When he was first approached by DWTS, several years prior, he turned the opportunity down. This television talent was nervous that his dancing skills weren’t going to be good enough. Since then, he’s put his fears behind him and realized that live TV is his strength. "I have no fear of live television because I've done it for 40 years. In fact, live television makes me bigger. … I'm just a big ham." Coming back to his roots in music, John and dance partner Emma, skillfully danced their way into the hearts of America with a foxtrot to none other than the “theme from Dukes of Hazzard (Good Ol’ Boys)”. When the dancing began, of course, it was John that gave his signature “Yeee-Haw”. Fittingly, John (aka “Bo Duke”) then slid across the hood of a Dodge Charger before beginning his smooth country boy moves on the dance floor! Dressed in head-to-toe denim, the couple showed that John not only plans to dance but has a little athleticism hiding in his back pocket! While it may not have been the most technically proficient of all the competitor’s dances, the most important word Jon and Emma could hear was “safe”! They are through to the next round and looking to gain some more fans in the future!

Singer Niall Horan - 'Finally Free' From New Animated Film Smallfoot (Official Video)

Singer Niall Horan sings “Finally Free” from the new animated film “Smallfoot”. The vocal and guitar-heavy song perfectly capture the importance of having a good friend by your side and not being afraid of the unknown. “When you're right here beside me, There's nothing else I need, Your eyes keep me reminded, That nothing's out of reach, When you're with me, It feels like I'm finally free, Feels like I'm finally free” The fanciful movie takes the idea of “Bigfoot” and turns it around. The storyline follows a young Yeti who has lived his life believing that humans were not real. One day, that myth is shattered when he stumbles across the unimaginable – a “smallfoot”. When this Yeti tries to share his great find with the rest of the Yeti community it brings chaos to their town. The song “Finally Free” serves an an encouraging anthem of perseverance, following your heart, and deep friendship. There is no doubt that the song alone will become wildly popular with it’s catchy tune and Niall’s powerful voice. Addressing the fears of the first step into the unknown, something we have all battled at some point, the lyrics offer a voice to those concerns that we all face. If we don’t take a leap of faith, how will we learn what’s out “there”? “Standing here on my own, Yeah, the first step's the hardest when you're walking into the unknown, It's been dark, and it's been cold, Had my head in the clouds never knowing what lies down below”

Flight Delay Leads To Incredible Orchestra Airport Performance

Passengers at Geneva Airport were recently treated to an unplanned musical performance. Performing a piece from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, the members of the Geneva Chamber Orchestra decided to cheer up the airport. The group found themselves stranded at the airport due to a flight delay. Seeing that their wait would be a while, the musicians naturally took out their instruments. They took the unexpected time, waiting for their flight to Venice, to give the other waiting passengers an impromptu concert. Violinist Fabrizio Von Arx led the musicians as they passionately played through the selected upbeat classical piece. With smiles and laughter, the musicians were pleasantly surprised at the passengers who stopped to watch them play. With haunting acoustics under a stairwell of the airport, the music flowed freely through the space. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of waiting in an airport, especially for a delayed flight, we think you will great appreciate this stairwell concert! Classical music has been proven to make the listener smarter, perhaps it also makes them calmer! We found this so soothing and would love to experience such a wonderful concert in such a stressful place as an airport! The video was originally posted by Pascal Bitz, a photographer from Geneva. With the caption “This is what happens when classical musicians wait for a delayed flight at 10:00pm” Pascal shared the now viral video. We don’t think he expected the video to travel around the world as quickly as it has! What a blessing that he was there at the same time as this talented group of musicians and was able to film their mini-performance!

School Bans Pre-Game Prayer So Families Start Their Own Prayer

This Alabama high school is making headlines after announcing that there would no longer be prayer before the football game. Normally a Senior chaplain would take to the P.A. system before the game and lead the attendees in a short prayer. That is no longer allowed. The change came with little warning at one of the most attended games - Homecoming. When the announcement came that there would be no prayer but rather a “time of silence” the students and families were surprised. “We’re not gonna not pray before a game. It’s gotta happen” shared a Blount County cheerleader. The students were confused, the pre-game prayer has been occurring for as long as anyone could remember. But that didn’t stop the attendees from having prayer - when the moment of silence came they began reciting “The Lord’s Prayer” in unison. “I was kinda like confused, because we do it all the time,” said Kennedy Chastain, “ I feel like they would’ve told us sooner…” Since that evening, parents and students have started their own actions to counter the removal of the prayer. They began passing out flyers in the parking lot with “The Lord’s Prayer” on them so that everyone could participate. Others have been seen carrying “In God we trust” signs. The football team members made their own statement by carrying signs onto the field before a game. Other supporters of the pre-game prayer have been wearing shirts printed with "We Believe". “There’s no need to get angry. We have a voice and uh, we need to be proactive as Christians to do something about it. We don’t need to sit around and let it happen.” said Blount Co. schools parent, Nicholas Chapman. For those parents and students in Blount County they are determined to be an example in politely refusing to back down from a prayer that they believe should be allowed. The removal of the prayer has actually resulted in a “revival” of sorts among the community as they joined together in determination to pray together before the games.

7-Year-Old Belts Out 'The National Anthem'

The National Anthem is one of the hardest songs that any singer can perform. But 7-year-old Malea Emma proved that she has what is takes to pull off this iconic song. Just watch as this sweet little girl steps onto the field and belts out these patriotic words. 'O say can you see by the dawn's early light What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming' Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming' Malea performed the song before a soccer game between the LA Galaxy and the Seattle Sounders. Her rendition was so incredible that everyone started to take notice. Soon, social media was buzzing about this young girl with a very special voice. Zlatan Ibrahimović is a LA Galaxy player from Sweden. He named Malea the ‘MVP of the game’ on Twitter after hearing her incredible cover of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’ Tons of other fans agreed and they all shouted her praises. I definitely think this is going to go down as one of the best renditions in this franchise’s history. I just cannot get over how much love, enthusiasm and pride she has in the exact moment. It’s obvious that little Malea has a ton of talent and she’s definitely got a passion for performing. With a voice like that, I think we’ll be seeing more of this cutie in the future. I sure do wish I could’ve been there to witness this special National Anthem performance in person. Who else is with me?

First Blind Contestant Dazzles On Dancing With The Stars

Dancing can be a lot of fun, but professional dancing can also take a lot of hard work. For Paralympic athlete, Danelle Umstead, dancing is even more of a challenge than for more. Danelle has no central or peripheral vision and she was also diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. But that hasn’t stopped this inspiring woman from following her dreams and reaching for the gold. And now, this 46-year-old alpine skier is the first-ever blind contestant on the hit show Dancing With The Stars. Danelle has been dreaming of this moment for a long time and her debut performance was everything that she hoped it would be. Just watch as Danelle beautifully performs a special foxtrot to ‘Rise Up’ from Andra Day with her partner Artem Chigvintsev. Her emotional number struck a chord with everyone watching. Even the judges were in awe of her skill and technique for the very first dance. It takes a lot of hard work and practice for any celebrity to perform on this stage, but Danelle is determined to put in all the hours so she’s seen as a real competitor and not just someone with a disability. I think if this first performance is any indicator, we will be seeing a lot more of Danelle this season on Dancing With The Stars. It’s so inspiring to see her follow her passion no matter what. What a remarkable woman with an even more remarkable story. Who else is going to be cheering for Danelle Umstead and Artem this season?

Marines Rush To Help Save Elderly Residents From Fire's Blaze

Recently a fire broke out at a private senior citizens home in Washington, D.C. Without hesitation, 100 Marines stationed nearby came running to the rescue. The Marines saw the smoke from their location at Marine Barracks Washington, a half mile away, and instantly began running toward the emergency. The fire was raging at the Arthur Capper Senior Public Housing building. In the posted video, several Marines can be seen running with intense purpose through an intersection on the way to the fire without any protective gear. “Marines rushed into the building to rescue those who needed assistance and evacuated residents to the Marine Barracks Washington Annex where they were checked and treated for any injuries and sheltered until their loved ones arrived,” Marine Barracks Washington 8th & I said in a statement on Facebook. When they arrived on scene with local firefighters the Marines immediately started assisting the elderly in leaving the building. For some residents with mobility issues, this meant a ride on the back of a Marine! Whatever it took to get the residents to safety, the Marines were up to the challenge.Seeing these brave Marines running to help their neighbors is so incredibly moving. These amazing soldiers showed that it doesn’t matter where the battlefield is, they are not leaving anyone behind! “We just hope that people understand that when Marines see a crisis, we respond,” Capt. Trey Gregory told Military.com. “It’s what we do whether we are overseas or here in D.C. Geographic location doesn’t matter.”

Anthem Light's Joey Stamper Sings Acoustic Cover Of Frank Sinatra Medley

Joey Stamper has become a popular musician through the band Anthem Lights. He has been recording his own covers of favorite songs. We love this moving acoustic mashup of “Fly Me To The Moon” and “Come Fly With Me”. Both songs were made famous by none other than Frank Sinatra. Sinatra continues to be one of the most recognized jazz musician names in the world. The blue-eyed crooner grabbed hearts in America and later internationally through both a vocal career and fame in Hollywood. Many have covered the songs that Sinatra made famous. Because of his fan loyalty, that is always a risky choice for a performer. Joey Stamper has done a beautiful job with these two famous Frank Sinatra songs! Joey’s voice has its own very unique quality that lends itself easily for these popular vintage tunes. “Weather-wise, it's such a lovely day, Just say the words and we'll beat the birds, Down to Acapulco Bay, It is perfect for a flying honeymoon, they say, Come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away” It’s clear that Joey Stamper truly connects with the lyrics of the songs as he plays and is singing from his heart. Hearing the timeless lyrics with just the piano and Joey’s voice makes the pieces that much more powerful. It reminds us of those lazy, rainy days with a good cup of joe and a dream! “Fill my heart with song and let me sing for ever more, You are all I long for, All I worship and adore, In other words, please be true, In other words, I love you”

Rhythmic Drummers Combine Swing Dancing And Music In Their Performance

We’ve all seen the amazing videos of groups of talented rhythmic drummers playing large Japanese drums. This style of musical performance is called “Taiko” drumming but there are many different ways that it is being produced. One such way is this video which combined taiko drumming with swing dancing! This absolutely stunning performance was given by the San Jose Taiko group at the Swingposium: Big Band Music and Dance From Camp event. In collaboration with Epic Immersive and Wesley Jazz Ensemble, the Taiko group offered this unique blend of Taiko rhythmic drumming and 1940s dancing. The Swingposium was created as a tribute to the Japanese Americans during WWII who found themselves interned during the war. In those camps, the pastimes included both drumming and dancing as a way to keep mentally and physically fit. Performing to “Sing,Sing,Sing” a tune made popular by Benny Goodman in 1937. The tune is almost synonymous with the WW2 dance era. As the piece opens, there is a famous “call to dance” by the drums. In San Jose Taiko’s version, those drums are quickly joined by none other than the large Japanese taiko players. Dressed in period-styled clothing these men and women share their love for the music through this syncopated dance-drumming routine. The crowd is so wowed many are forgetting to clap along! With every “rock step” dance move, the drummers perfectly keep time to the melody being played by a backup band. It’s a great mix of culture, rhythm, dance and true love of the music!

Durance Pace Is Thankful For Another Opportunity To Praise God In Song

When Duranice Pace opened the door to her family’s house, she was ready to celebrate another day in worshipful style. There is no way this woman was going to let a day go by without singing the song of her heart! “I’ll always be thankful, I’ll always be grateful, I’ll always be thankful, I’ll always be grateful!” Duranice Pace is a member of “The Anointed Pace Sisters” from Atlanta. She comes from a talented family of powerful singers and worshippers. These sisters have been singing and praising together since the early 70s when they were performing in church and school talent shows. They learned early on how to harmonize their voices and truly enjoy their time singing together. It’s clear from this video that Duranice wasn’t about to worship alone. When she walked in the door and the family was gathered around the table, it was the perfect opportunity to get the praise flowing! She quickly gathered the family into her celebration. While the family repeat the chorus, Duranice begins to improv a little chorus about their time together: “Here we are again, sitting at the dinner table…” There is no doubt that Duranice is truly “thankful” and her excitement is so contagious! We found ourselves singing and clapping along in no time. The tune stuck with us all through the day and we were “grateful”! How amazing would our lives be if we carried that joy and passion around 24-7? It’s clear this family loves each other, God, and worshipping together. What an amazing example of keeping the worship alive from Sunday until Sunday!

Contestant Brings Judges To Tears After Song For Late Mom

When 25-year-old J-Sol stepped on the X Factor UK stage, none of the judges were prepared for this emotional audition. This young man has been putting off the singing competition for years, but this season was different. In 2015, J-Sol’s mother passed away. It was always her dream to see her son compete on the popular show and she believed in his talent. After reading an old text message from his mom about auditioning, J-Sol decided that this was going to be his year. And instead of covering someone else’s song, he decided to go against the normal and perform an original composition called ‘Bullet In My Heart.’ It was an emotional number from beginning to end and you could truly feel the passion from J-Sol with every single note. There’s no doubt that he put his heart and soul into this performance and judges took notice. In fact, two of the judges were brought to tears by this personal song. Just watch as Ayda and Louis wipe away the tears after hearing J-Sol’s heartbreaking story and performance. This story hits both of these judges especially hard because both of them lost one of their own parents recently. It’s never easy to say goodbye to a loved one, but knowing that J-Sol’s mother is looking down from Heaven and smiling brings some comfort. I think this young man has the talent and drive to go a long way in this competition. Who else thinks we’ll be seeing more of J-Sol in the future?
