Kind-hearted Teen Brings Squirrel Back To Life After Hitting It With His Car

We’ve all been there - No place to swerve and a fuzzy, little squirrel comes dashing out under our car. When this squirrel run into his wheel, this boy wasn’t about to let that be the end of the little guy! Watch as this kind-hearted teen brings this squirrel back to life! Captured on the chest-camera of local police, 19-year-old Chris Felix was seen trying to revive a squirrel. The teen was driving to work when he felt his car hit something. He immediately pulled over and looked to see what he had hit. That’s when this kind-hearted teen spotted a motionless squirrel on the roadside. Chris picked up the lifeless rodent and transferred him to the side of the road. Officers were heard exclaiming “Is that CPR? I think it is, look at him!” They were pleasantly surprised as they walked up on the teen and found him performing CPR actions on the unlucky squirrel. The teen was clearly sad about the situation and was determined to give it his best efforts. The officers begin giving suggestions to Chris to help the squirrel regain consciousness. “He’s coming around now!” Officers joked with the teen that he should be put in for a life-saving award and that’s when the squirrel came to and shot off into the nearby greenery! “There he goes! You saved his life!” officers and teen were happily surprised as the squirrel took off. What a kind young man who clearly understands the importance of giving all living creatures our respect and care!

High School Students Reenact Entire Movie in Dance Routine In Epic Homecoming Halftime

Dancers from the PAC Dance Team and Advanced Dance at Walden Grove High School have outdone themselves in this epic Homecoming Halftime routine. The group performed a thrilling six-minute Harry Potter themed routine and wowed their fellow students. The dance was posted on social media and has since gone viral! The use of mobile set pieces helps to recreate the entire Harry Potter story from the time he’s accepted into Hogwarts through a duel with villain, Voldemort. The opening scene has Harry taking the stairs to his new school which is then stunningly swirled around like a whirlwind ride by other cast members. Entering from the corner of the gym floor is a creative “Hogwarts Express” train full of excited students. Hysterically, Harry tries on the hat which will tell which “house” he will join. As Gryffindor is called out the music changes and the team breaks into a choreographed dance. Next up is Harry’s flying lessons. Each member of the dance team has stealthily grabbed a broomstick for the scene. Breaking into another tight dance number, the team shows their skills as a group as they “fly” through the center of the court. It’s clear that they have truly worked long hours to accomplish these synchronized moves! As the villains enter through smoke, the students are wowed by entrance. It’s not long before the good vs evil begin a dance battle. It appears the villains have won this battle, but just when it seems hope is lost, Harry jumps up and defeats ultimate bad guy, Voldemort! These kids are incredibly talented dancers and their creativity is such a pleasure to watch! Even if you are not a fan of the Harry Potter series, seeing them perform this good vs evil battle in such a unique way is true enjoyment!

Katie Stubblefield Has New Face After Impluse Decision Nearly Claims Life

Katie Stubblefield was 18 when an “impulse decision” changed her life forever. In one moment, Katie had gotten her brother’s rifle and attempted suicide. Life as their family knew it was changed forever in one instant. As a high-achiever personality, Katie had always overcome obstacles with ease. Her parents described her as a “driven” child, always working hard and never giving in to pressure. An unexpected breakup and anxiety over going to college left Katie feeling burdened. Katie shared that she wasn’t having suicidal thoughts at the time, but rather just had what she called an “impulse decision” to shoot herself. The bullet missed Katie’s brain but caused extreme damage to her face. Not only was the news grim, but Katie’s father, Robb shared that the doctors spoke the worst over Katie’s life: “She’ll never eat, she’ll never drink, she’ll never bathe herself, she’ll never converse, she’ll be a ‘vegetable’, she’ll just be in a skilled facility for the rest of her life”. In that moment, Robb shared that he was not ready to let go of his daughter. He knew that he was ready to fight for her to live. “I had complete recollection of what I had done. I thought ‘How have I done this to myself’ but more importantly, ‘How have I done this to my family’” Katie shared. In an instant, this beautiful, vibrant girl was in the fight for her life. Doctors were able to reconstruct part of Katie’s face and suggested she was a candidate for a facial transplant. “It was an opportunity to have my life back and my face back at some point… It was a very difficult decision because I knew someone would have to pass in order for me to have that face.” Katie’s donor ended up being Adrea Schneider who died from a cocaine overdose. Three years and 22 operations later, Katie found herself going in for the transplant surgery. Through her entire situation, she fought to maintain positivity. In the hospital bed she shared “This is like the beginning of another chapter” The surgery itself took 11 surgeons a day and a half to complete. Though Katie now looks nothing like the child her parents knew before, it’s still the same determined girl inside who is using this experience as a way to reach others. 'Life is an amazing gift and I am thankful to have a second chance to live my life,' she says. 'So many people have helped me; now I want to help other people.'

Former Student Donates Kidney To Dying Teacher

English teacher, George Labecki learned that his kidneys were no longer functioning and his doctors placed him on the donor list. Knowing that could take a minimum of 5 years to find a match, his wife encouraged him to make a plea for a kidney donor on social media. Then this former studnet donates kidney to save his life. Labecki shared in a perfectly pinned post, that he has struggled with his kidneys since he was a teen. In January of 2017, it became more than a struggle, George was in the battle for his life. His post came as a shock to his friends and colleagues who quickly stepped up to share his post in hopes of finding him a donor. A former coworker, gym teacher Kathy Young shared the post which was seen by her former student, Lindsay Arnold Wenrich. "I thought, 'wow, this is hitting kind of close to home,'" Weinrich told "GMA," adding that Labecki was a popular teacher who all the kids knew in high school. "It's not super often that I see someone I know who needs an organ donor and even though I never had him, Cedar Cliff is a close-knit community." Along with many other former students and coworkers, Lindsay got tested to see if she was a candidate to help George. In September, she learned that she was a match! God really does work in mysterious ways! Lindsey decided to surprise Mr. Labecki with the news. Learning he is a big Penn State Nittany Lions fan, Lindsay dressed up in a mascot outfit for her big reveal. Written on large poster board, she gave George clues: “We are happy to tell you that…” “We are a match…” “I’m giving you my kidney!” By the final card reveal, the two were already in tears and shared an emotional embrace. The surgery is scheduled for October 26. Please keep George, Lindsay and their families in your prayers! Of the experience George has firm advice for anyone in his situation: "Shake the trees. Reach out to as many people as you can. Don't be afraid to make the ask. We tend to be very closed about things and don't share a lot. Open, share, reach out. There are people out there who want to help, but they don't know the problems were having. Shake the tree, reach out, and let people know and don't be afraid.”

Papa' Company Matches College Students With Lonely Seniors

The company is called “Papa” and works to connect lonely seniors with college-aged students as surrogate “grandkids”. For those seniors who need transportation, light cleaning, or just conversation this new service offers an alternative to using up necessary home health visits for something as simple as help making a bed or preparing a meal. College students benefit as well. They can sign up for a much or little work as they wish, make some money, but more importantly gain a tangible relationship with an elder who can serve as a mentor in their lives. The Papa program is based in Florida and was birthed after it’s CEO, Andrew Parker saw the need for help with his own grandfather who had dementia. The company motto is “helping seniors throughout their aging journey”. As so many families have experienced, being a caregiver for an aging family member can be overwhelming. Balancing work and immediate family schedules can mean that a caregiver cannot always be there for their loved one. With Papa, there is an extra level of support. “They become like second grandparents, and we become like second grandkids or second children. You learn so much from them and they learn so much from you. It’s one of the most interesting experiences I’ve ever had in my life.” shares a Papa Pal. What is truly unique about this program is that the creators of Papa realize that seniors don’t want to feel like a burden. Papa carefully screens their workers to offer enthusiastic helpers who “do everything in our power to make seniors feel young again”. The team members as called “Papa Pals” as that is their mission: companionship for your loved one! “When you get to be my age, there’s times people are thinkin’, ‘Oh, I don’t want to talk to that old man’ Well, I have never encountered one of Papa’s employees that didn’t listen to me whole-heartedly!” shares Papa client, Sam. Having been a caregiver, this program would have been a life saver for those days when our loved one needed an extra dose of conversation or a trip to the park on a nice day. This is a truly special program that we hope will take off nationally!

With all of Heaven Floating Down - Anna Grete Preus

Anna Grethe Preuss - who died today, the 25th of August 2019 - is a loss to the world of music. Such beautiful integration of melody, flow and lyrics, - and the feeling of the quiet intervention of Heaven's peace, overriding all opposition by circumventing our human devices.
Slight revision and lots of fixing of synchronisation so this had to be uploaded 3 times until I got it right - 6th September 2018

Danny Gokey Speaks Out About Depression, Hope and End Times

Danny Gokey captured the attention of the nation when he was a contestant on American Idol. The talented singer’s emotional backstory immediately made the fans fall in love with this talented performer who is also an overcomer! In this interview, Danny opens up about depression, life and hope! Before he became famous, Danny was a worship pastor at his church who had a love of Gospel music. At that time, he thought that this would be his life’s purpose. Little did he know, God would have a bigger stage for Danny--giving him a bigger audience to reach through his music! Danny shared how he believes that the rampant depression and anxiety that plague our lives today were foretold by Jesus himself. “We can’t ignore the scriptures where Jesus did say that the tribulation period, the end times (and I know that’s a scary term, but we’re closer to the end than we’ve ever been! That’s just, mathematically, that’s what it is!) . . .He did say that the enemy was going to create his launch of attack on humanity, and man, that is coming in the form of depression and hopelessness and anxiety. There’s factors that have poured into it. I think social media [is a factor]. We’ve become more narcissistic as a culture than we’ve ever been.” He goes on to say how he hopes his music and his tour will be an opportunity to share his story with others, and hopefully provide inspiration. He remembers how he was at an all-time low when a friend insisted that he go to a worship concert with him. That event changed Danny’s life, and he hopes to be able to provide that same opportunity to uplift those who are struggling with depression! “As a person who’s struggled with anxiety and depression myself more times than I want to admit, this year’s been a year of reckoning with that. This is an issue I’ve stuffed down. It was 10 years ago that someone pulled me out of it after I lost my first spouse.” Danny shared. He went on to add, “It’s a small investment to save a life. And right now it seems like the epidemic of suicide is at an all-time high. And you don’t know whose life you might be saving.” Watch the entire interview to hear what else Danny had to share about depression and hopelessness. Thank God that there are men of God like Danny who aren’t afraid to talk about tough subjects and offer hope to others!

SC Man Opens His 'House' to Hurricane Evacuees Including a Rescued Baby Squirrel

After a deadly hurricane flooded his South Carolina beach community, one man, Jaret Hucks, knew he had to do all he could to help his neighbors. So he invited anyone in the community who was in need to come ‘stay at my house.’ This outpouring of love from this Good Samaritan for complete strangers is a complete Godsend for many who didn’t have the means to turn anywhere else. "I don't know what we would have done," I don't know where we would be right now." one of his grateful ‘houseguests’ said. You see, Jaret’s ‘house’ is a 70 room inn. And he’s already given away more than 1,000 free nights to evacuees in need. "I said, 'Come stay with me. Come stay at my house until you can go back to yours,'" said Jaret. Jaret lifted his ‘no pet policy’ to allow the now homeless strangers to bring all their loved ones with them, including dogs, a tortoise and even Mr. Squeakers, a rescued baby squirrel. "Love thy neighbor, right? That's what you're supposed to do," Jaret said. "My mama taught me that a long time ago." Jaret’s generosity has definitely inspired others, too. He has personally given away about $50,000 worth of services himself. And when others heard what he was doing, they stepped up to help him! Donations starting pouring in so that all of Jaret’s houseguests would have their needs met. Diapers, haircuts, meals. . . all taken care of, courtesy of a team of kind strangers! Some of the guests have tried pitching in themselves by helping Jaret around the inn with chores and housekeeping. And while he’s grateful, Jaret explains that he’s not doing it for gratitude. He just was raised right, and wanted to make his mama proud.

The Other Side (The Greatest Showman) - Peter Hollens Chester See

Peter Hollens is a classically trained vocalist who is better known for his stunning YouTube a cappella renditions of popular music. Hollens doesn’t disappoint with “The Other Side”. For the untrained ear, it’s easy to think that there is music in the background, but all of the sounds are made by his vocals and mouth! The Greatest Showman tells the fictionalized story of P.T. Barnum building his unconventional circus with some of societies cast offs. In order to realize his dream, Barnum knew he needed a financial backer. This song from the movie tells the moment that Barnum (Hugh Jackman) convinces wealthy playwright Phillip Carlyle (Zac Efron) to fill that partnership role. “Don't you wanna get away from the same old part you gotta play 'Cause I got what you need So come with me and take the ride It'll take you to the other side” Peter Hollens and Chester See took a slightly different slant on the scene, still filming in bar location but hysterically it seems Hollens character continues to replace drinks with non-alcoholic Shirley Temple drinks! We love that every part is played by Hollens or See, throughout their filming they find ways to show themselves multiple times in the same frame. We also get to see YouTube personality, Chester See’s dancing skills in the second chorus (curiously performed in sock feet!) including a little dancing “flare” homage to dancing master, Michael Jackson. Dancing on a such a slick surface couldn’t have been easy! Hollens and See worked so well together on camera and did a fantastic job of tackling this very popular song! We’re looking forward to the rest of the album and seeing what collaborations these two might tackle in the future!

Viral Piano-Playing Pizza Delivery Guy Performs on National TV

When pizza delivery guy, Bryce Dudal, dropped off the order to a customer’s home, he also gave them something better than extra breadsticks… an impromptu piano concert! The 18-year-old high school graduate asked his customers if he could take a closer look at their baby grand piano. ““That’s a beautiful piano. Can I take look at it?” The Varchetti family invited the teen inside and asked if he played piano and if he’d like to play them something. Primarily self-taught, Bryce sat down and played a section of Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata”. He’s loved this piece since he was a child and learn much of it before he was able to read music. Played with true concert style, this talented pizza delivery guy wowed his customer and social media! “A lot of people sit down at the piano and play something slow and beautiful,” he said. “But when I play for someone, I like to go all out.” It makes us wonder what other talents could be hiding behind the folks we interact with daily, be it a delivery guy, our grocery clerk or even the postman! Many hidden talents could be suppressed by a “temporary” profession. You’ve heard “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” and here is another true-to-life example to keep in mind. Also, don’t be stingy with your tips you could be helping a future concert pianist!

Nike Signs Justin Gallegos - First Professional Athlete With Cerebral Palsy

Justin Gallegos has Cerebral Palsy but that isn’t stopping him from achieving his dreams and becoming a pro-athlete. The athletic brand Nike just signed Justin as their first professional athlete with cerebral palsy. The neurological disorder affects muscle coordination and tone. This makes every step that Justin takes a true inspiration to others battling disabilities. “Growing up with a disability, the thought of becoming a professional athlete is as I have said before like the thought of climbing Mt. Everest!” When Justin was a freshman in high school he joined the cross country team. With determination, Justin continued to fight his condition to achieve his dream of being a runner. But he didn’t just run, Justin began winning races! He now runs as a junior with University of Oregon. His determination caught the eye of the Nike Corporation. Nike’s Insight Directory, John Douglass, was at the end of Justin’s recent cross country meet to offer him a Nike contract! Camera crews were there, not to follow the race as Justin assumed, but instead to capture his amazing achievement! Fittingly, Justin announced his new status on National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day. “...Today I made Nike history and became the very first athlete with Cerebral Palsy to sign a contract with Nike! You don’t realize how realistic and emotional your dreams are until they play out before your very eyes!” Gallegos posted on social media. Justin’s teammates were overjoyed and it was clear they have given him a lot of support in his running journey. This new pro-athlete is not losing sight of where he came from and his faith that supported him through this process. We think Justin will be a huge inspiration for a lot of people! “I was once a kid in leg braces who could barely put on foot in front of the other! Now I have signed a contract with Nike Running! Trust the process! And most of all trust in God! God is good! “
