They didn't expect much of a turn out, so when 250 officers showed up just to meet the little boy who still cares about the men and women in blue my heart melted. How incredible is this!?!
All too often, we do not practice the kind of faith that we have available to us. Instead, we live in much the same way as those old‐covenant saints. We practice faith (if we even practice faith) in much the same way they did. We do it without opening our eyes and ears to what we are capable of seeing and hearing. And what is it that we are capable of seeing and hearing? In the simplest way I can express this answer—as born‐again believers, we have the opportunity to carry the very presence of God within us.

The weaker the vessel the more of an opportunity God is given to show forth His power. That is why Paul boasts in his infirmities and weaknesses. These earthen vessels are hard pressed, perplexed, persecuted, and struck down! But by the power of God are kept from being crushed, in despair, forsaken, and destroyed! God allows His earthen vessels to go through this so the work of refinement and sanctification may be done in their lives. The Christian is also always dying through repentance and always delivered to death for Jesus sake through consecration. It is through repentance and consecration that the work of sanctification takes place in the life of the Christian. This is how one receives life. This is how they become like Christ and become like Him in the resurrection. Trusting God isn’t necessarily the same thing as having faith in God. After a couple of major failures in my life, I found myself trusting God—simply because I had no one or nothing else left to trust in. But I still didn't understand how to live by faith in God. God was my place of refuge. I trusted Him. I could curl up in the comfort of His presence. But I didn't know how to step back out into life and live life with Him.
