Unbelief is far more serious than just not knowing how to get God to do what you ask of Him. Unbelief is the denial of who God is—either knowingly or unknowingly.
Yes, God is certainly our source for everything that is good and perfect.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” (James 1:17 NKJV)
But when we limit our relationship with God to no more than a resource for what we want, we will treat Him like a vending machine and we will use our faith as the currency to get those wants.
While this is certainly an improvement over trying to get what we want without “any” relationship with Him, there is still little of the life He has for us in such an approach.
Saint Genesius of Rome is the Roman Catholic patron saint of comedians, dancers, actors, musicians, printers, and torture victims. He was an actor in many plays that mocked Christianity. While performing a piece mocking baptism, Genesius had a sudden conversion experience on stage and refused to renounce his faith even at the orders of emperor Diocletian. He was then martyred by beheading. His feast day is August 25th We invite you to join the production team, make a donation, tell your friends or just watch. If God had always done exactly what you had asked of Him, you would have no problem with faith. Your faith in God would remain unchallenged.
But your faith in God has been challenged. And the challenger is called unbelief. Unbelief is your human nature's direct attack against the true nature of God, trying to convince you that God is not who He says He is.
Rachael and Dustin are shocked to find out their unborn child could possibly go into heart failure. Watch as they choose to accept God's will, rather then their own. A true miracle!

The fun folks from the Goodness Knows decided to teach 100 strangers how to play just one note on an instrument. Watching them learn was great enough. But when it all came together at the end I just had to smile!
Haven't you been in situations where you needed to count on God, but didn't think you could? This tension is the battle between faith and unbelief. And unless you understand this tension, you will make a wreck of your relationship with the Lord. But while it would seem so, unbelief is not the exact opposite of faith—at least not in the way it plays out in our daily lives. While faith has its substance in our spirit (our divine nature), unbelief has its substance in our flesh (our human nature). And both conditions can be (and usually are) present at the same time. It is critical to your progress (and to your sanity) to understand that just because you are dealing with unbelief “does not” mean that you have no faith. On the other hand, just because you have faith “does not” mean that you won't have to deal with unbelief. Don't let your unbelief convince you that you don't have any faith. And don't get so cocky that you begin to think your faith in God won't be challenged by unbelief. givemethatmountain.org/article/faith-and-unbelief-day-sixty-two/
