In this emotional performance, one dad sings 'Against All Odds' by Phil Collins on America’s Got Talent and shares about how his wife recently passed away in a helicopter crash.
“So take a look at me now, oh there's just an empty space
And there's nothin' left here to remind me, just the memory of your face
Ooh, take a look at me now, well there's just an empty space
And you coming back to me is against the odds, and that's what I've got to face”
Matt Mauser is 51 years old and lives in California with his kids. He lost his wife in the same helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant in January 2020.
“She was just this…very humble, powerful, beautiful human being,” Matt shares about his wife in an interview on AGT. “When she left that day, she kissed me and said, ‘I love you.’ That was the last thing my wife ever said to me.”
Matt and his wife were schoolteachers and married for 15 years before she died. They had three beautiful children together who joined Matt at his AGT audition.
“My focus immediately went to my children,” Matt shared. And you start to say, ‘Alright, she would want me to carry on.’ She would want our kids to have happy lives.”
As Matt get ready to perform for the judges, his children eagerly watch from the side of the stage.
“I can’t wait for Dad to sing,” says his youngest child to her older sister.
And what an amazing and powerful performance Matt delivers! You could really feel the emotions in his voice when he sang this moving song.
After the song, Simon asks Matt what he would like to gain from this opportunity.
“I would like to make sure that my children see that in spite of the grief that we’ve been through this year…that that grief is not going to define who we are as a family,” he shares. “And that my children see that you have to find joy in life, and you have to continue. If this can in any way help my children to chase their dreams, then I’ll take it.”
Matt gets 4 yeses from the judges, and then celebrates with a huge embrace from his children on stage. He definitely made his wife proud!
In this video, 5 blind auditions from The Voice sound just like the famous singers that they are covering. Check it out!
In the first video, the audition song is ‘I Don’t Care’ by Justin Bieber & Ed Sheeran.
“Cause I don't care when I'm with my baby, yeah, all the bad things disappear
And you're making me feel like maybe I am somebody
I can deal with the bad nights when I'm with my baby, yeah”
The singer is playing the guitar and sounds very similar to Ed Sheeran. All the judges turn around for him, and the audience is clapping happily along to the song.
The second song is from The Voice Iceland, and the woman auditioning is singing ‘All By Myself’ by Celine Dion. What an iconic song, and the contestant did an incredible job singing it! It’s no surprise that her beautiful voice made all the judges turn their chairs around.
For the third song in the video, the contestant on The Voice is singing ‘Glory’ by John Legend.
“One day when the glory comes, it will be ours, it will be ours
Oh one day when the war is won, we will be sure, we will be sure
Oh glory (glory, glory), Oh (glory, glory)”
The man singing sounds just like John Legend, and it is funny because he is one of the judges listening to the performance. And what a passionate and powerful performance it is! So much so that John Legend just had to turn his chair around to see who was doing such an amazing job covering his song.
The last two songs in the video are from The Voice Australia and The Voice Belgium. The songs that are performed in those clips are ‘Broken Vow’ by Josh Groban and ‘Tenerife Sea’ by Ed Sheeran. Each performance is wonderful and definitely impresses the judges and the audience!

9-year-old vocalist, Victory Brinker, earns the first-ever 5-way Golden Buzzer after her jaw-dropping audition on America’s Got Talent.
What’s more impressive than an amazing singing audition? An amazing singing audition from a kid. At only 9 years old, this little girl blew the judges away with her angelic voice. You HAVE to hear it!
Right before she took the stage, a bird flew across the theatre and Simon said, “That must be a lucky sign!” Well, little did he know…
Victory traveled from Pennsylvania to sing for the judges. Her mom shared that her daughter sings all the time at home and that her dream for years was to sing for the judges on America’s Got Talent. Don’t think her dream could’ve turned out any better!
During an interview, Victory said, “When I’m singing, it makes me feel happy, happy, and happy!” TOO CUTE. She told Terry Crews that she really wanted four yesses and thought she could win the whole thing.
You can tell that she’s just having the time of her life even just being at the audition. Her mom said, “I am beyond proud of Victory, and I hope that all of her dreams come true.” That’s really all a mom could want for her child. We hope Victory’s dreams come true too!
When she walks onto the stage to introduce herself, she seems kind of shy and nervous. But her personality showed a little when Simon asked what she would do with the prize money. “I would buy Simon a rainbow shirt that has glitter on it!” We agree — he really should spice up his wardrobe!
All she told them was that she would sing for them and then belts out beautiful opera! All of the judges look shocked — you would have no idea this mature, angelic sound could come from a 9-year-old!
The audience and judges fell in love with her. So much, that Simon called Terry to the judge’s table so they could all press the Golden Buzzer at the same time.
Even though this is just the beginning, Victory is definitely victorious! Bless you on your road ahead in the competition. Everyone already loves you, Victory!
An X Factor judge is moved to tears after a contestant’s heartfelt audition reminds her of her own mother.
Dublin’s Michelle Barrett may have been taken aback by Judge Tulisa’s response, but that is exactly what happened during Michelle’s turn at the microphone.
As the video opens, we get just a little teaser before the whole segment plays. The performance is dubbed an “Unforgettable Audition,” and we soon learn why Michelle’s performance is cemented in history. 31-year-old Michelle appears nervous and excited by the opportunity—one that has been a while in coming.
When one judge asks Michelle to tell the panel something about herself, Michelle shares that she is a mother of four “gorgeous babies,” and she considers that her biggest accomplishment to date. The video then shows Michelle’s tribe of supporters, including her husband and children. And Michelle is right! They are a quartet of cuties!
The hopeful contestant continues to explain that perhaps she hasn’t made it to this point previously, because her children were so young and she didn’t try hard enough. Instead, she chose to focus on her family. Now, though, Now that her children are older, Michelle feels able to commit herself fully to this dream.
For her audition, Michelle sings “All the Man That I Need,” which was most famously recorded by Whitney Houston in 1990. Her performance is outstanding and the judges clearly enjoy it. But, it is judge Tulisa that is most moved.
When Michelle finishes, Tulisa is the first to speak. She tells Michelle that she reminds her of her mum, and she calls the performance brilliant. Tulisa is emotional, recalling her own mother’s beautiful voice and the sadness she has over the fact that her mother has never really shared her talent. Tulisa now has Michelle crying, too.
The judges all vote “yes,” and Michelle is hopping and clapping, positively giddy over their decision. She greets her adoring family and is almost childlike in her excitement, and, yet, she shows compassion for the feelings of the younger judge. Interestingly, Tulisa jokes that she’s not the type to show much emotion; however, when it comes to her mother, that’s her weak spot.
Michelle’s performance was amazing, but it was the connection between a giving mother and a grateful daughter that made this performance so very special!
“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.” Proverbs 1:8
Jimmy Buffet embraces every part of the U.S.A. as he performs a unique rendition of “This Land is Your Land.”
Over the years, Jimmy Buffet and his Coral Reefer Band have recorded 67 singles. Many of those songs transport listeners to sandy, southern ports, and the vibe of this performance is consistent with Jimmy’s other music.
Jimmy stands barefoot in front of the microphone, wearing shorts and a nautical-themed shirt as he sings and plays the ukulele. Group members, in the background, are similarly dressed as they play steel pan drums and a melodica. They play poolside in a tropical setting. However, the images we see are from all across the United States, and we can truly feel the artist’s appreciation for all things American.
Though there’s no way to know how many states are pictured throughout the video, there is a thorough representation of the beautiful and varied wonders this country has to offer. As the song goes, we see wheat fields, deserts and redwood forests. The Golden Gate Bridge, The Gateway Arch, and the Statue of Liberty are all featured, as well. And kids...lots of kids!
We see images of children and teens as they swing, ride bikes, dance on boardwalks, play baseball and scamper on the beach. It’s hard to feel anything but grateful for the opportunity to live in a country where kids can do all those things freely and where the landscape is so vast and breathtaking!
Parades and sparklers, military servicemen and flags send a message of patriotism too. And, it’s clear that there’s at least one thing all Americans have in common—we can claim those snow-covered mountains, rolling rivers and picturesque New England falls as uniquely ours. This land is our land, from Jimmy’s own gulf stream waters to all the rest! Aren’t we blessed?
“Sing to the Lord with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp.” Psalms 147:7
You are never too old to have fun! In this video senior citizens go viral with a lively game of chair volleyball.
The Southeast Seattle Senior Center has got it going on with this fun volleyball activity! Maryetta Greaves, a resident, shares that it is fun and keeps you laughing and moving. More than a dozen friends join weekly to play the exciting game. Maryetta’s sister, Donnetta, participates as well. She raves about how talented her sister is at the sport. There is a clear sibling rivalry when Donetta shares that she is on the other side of the net and believes that her sister Maryetta is aiming for her. The back and forth between these two are hilarious.
This chair volleyball game started about 2 years ago. Executive Director, Lynda Greene said, “People who are not seniors assume that all seniors want to do is to knit, crochet, and eat jello. That is so far from the truth.” The video shares that “28% of people ages 65+ live alone. This can lead to isolation and poor health.” One woman playing the volleyball game is turning 100 years old in December. The seniors also have a coach, named Mark, who helps encourage them.
Donetta hilariously shares that they even tried to get Mark to put them in bikinis for uniforms but he said no. The community is like a family and everyone cares for one another. The unity between this diverse group of people is infectious.
God tells us that it is healthy for us to be joyful. The benefits of this volleyball activity is creating such laughter and happiness to the participants. May they remind us to be active and have fun as we take care of ourselves.
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." Proverbs 17:22
This is an incredibly touching video that you do not want to miss as 13-year-old Breez Carver dances to “Piece by Piece” and pulls at all our heartstrings.
Another America's Got Talent audition completely stuns the audience and judges in this video. An adorable girl comes out in a beautiful white dance costume. She nervously begins to answer the judges questions. That's when they discover that young Breez brought her adopted parents with her. She says that she began dancing when she was 5 years old as an outlet. She says, “I was very shy when I was young and so I would hide behind my mom.” Breez begins to shed tears. Judge Sophia encourages the young girl by saying, “And then what happened?” Breez tells the judges that her parents thought dancing would be very good for her confidence and she loves it. Her parents make a quick cameo from the side of the stage.
As Breez begins to dance you can see a high level of talent for her age. She moves so gracefully and purposefully. She performs aerials, high kicks, splits, and turns. The judges are mesmerized. At the end of the performance Heidi says to her fellow judges, “That was beautiful right?” You can hear Simon say, “Well done.” Breez receives all four yeses for the competition and is able to move forward.
What strikes me about this audition is not just the dance, but the journey it took for this young girl to grow in confidence in being loved and accepted through adoption. Dance was her outlet to grow and her parents loved her and gave her the opportunity. Now we see the family coming together to support her dreams. As God’s children, we are adopted into His family. This means that He created us with talents and champions us for His glory.
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God." John 1:12-13

4 friends gather together for a toe-tapping performance of Stevie Wonder’s classic ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered.’
This 1970 song was an instant hit for Stevie Wonder and it still remains an iconic song to this day.
“Ooo baby, here I am
Signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours (I'll be yours)
Here I am baby
Signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours”
Today, Austin Brown is putting his own spin on this iconic tune.
You may recognize Austin as a member of the a cappella group Home Free. We met this musical group when they competed in and won the fourth season of The Sing-Off on NBC in 2013. Other members include Rob Lundquist, Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, and Adam Chance and they’ve become viral sensations with their covers of hit songs such as ‘Ring Of Fire’ and ‘How Great Thou Art.’
2020 was an interesting year for people all across the globe. And while the pandemic forced Home Free to stop their tour, it allowed Austin time to discover himself as a solo artist.
Now, he’s teaming up with friends Sebastien Douyon, Chris Chatham on guitar, and Jenika Marion Foust for this lively performance of ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered.’
“Oowee baby, you set my soul on fire
That's why I know you're my heart's only desire
Ooo baby, here I am
Signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours”
While this past year has been tough on everyone, it’s so nice to see the world opening back up and friends gathering again. What a beautiful performance to remind us of the happy things in life.
