The title song from their 2012 album, a song about living a life that will leave the kind of legacy that Christ wants us to leave. A life such that when others see us they will noticed that there is something different about us, because we have been transformed by Christ. So that when it's all over here on Earth God will say "well done, good and faithful servant."
The song was written by David Frey, Ben McDonald, and Ben Glover. Well done, guys!
From the "White Flag" album, a song about reaching out around the world to those in need, as we are called to do many times in the Bible. It's about sacrifice, selflessness, and compassion. People are calling out, with hope, and we need to respond and "sing along".
A pretty song recorded by Betsy Hernandez on her album "Hide 'Em In Your Heart" in 1996. Her voice is reminiscent of Twila Paris. The song was written by her husband Frank, with a little bit of help from the author of the book of Ecclesiastes (King Solomon? No one knows.) Yes, God does indeed make everything beautiful in its time, in His time.
This is an old Judds song, recently remade by Christy Nockels on her album "Into The Glorious". I turned it into a missions song, mostly using pictures that my wife took on a mission trip to Guatemala in 2010. Well, she didn't take all of the pictures, since she is in some of them. It was a very successful mission trip, and I thought that the message of this song, "love can build a bridge", really tied in.
A magnificent song from the "White Flag" Passion Band album. Sung by Christy Nockels, written by Chris Tomlin, Audrey Assad, and Matt Maher (now that's an awesome team of songwriters!). My wife has been sick for a couple of months, and the main thing that has kept her going is her faith in the Lord, that He will heal her in His own timing. I know that this song is about spiritual revival, but I thought of my wife and physical revival when I made this video.
I love the sparseness of this tune; it strips everything away and creates a mood of deep intimacy with our Savior. I really like the line "I melt in Your peace". I've experienced that feeling many times, and it's such a good feeling, to be melting in His peace. It truly is overwhelming. I pray for everyone in the world to be able to experience that.
This song is from Gateway Worship's 2006 album "Living For You". That's Kari Jobe singing lead. Zach Neese wrote the song. Beautiful.
The title song from Paul's new album. I hesitated to make a video for it, after watching the intriguing video created by his son David; if you haven't seen it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAK3t6uG58Q. It's awesome. But here is my attempt at a video.
To me the verses that come to mind are Jeremiah 29:11 and Ephesians 2:10. You can look them up yourselves. Jeremiah 29:11 says that God knows the plans He has for us (not just our names). Ephesians says that those plans were laid out in advance. Now, we just have to listen and learn what those plans are. He is calling us, are we listening?
From Kari's self-titled album, a very tender and simple song that asks us to simply slow down from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and focus on God (Psalms 46:10). It's not easy to do, since we all have things that need to get done. But you'll find that if you do "be still" and ask for God's help, everything will fall into place. But as the song says, we also need to "wait patiently upon the Lord". That's not easy, either. We are impatient by nature. But, if we truly trust in the Lord, we should be able to be patient. Try it!
A classic song by the Maranatha Praise Band, featuring Christina Hamilton (sorry, I misspelled her first name in the video). I never understood why this song is not more prominent than it is. It fits into so many Christian ministries; it could be the "theme song" for so many of those ministries. It emphasizes the depth of Jesus' grace, and it talks about our response to His unending grace. Such a beautiful expression of how we should be mirroring Jesus in the way we deal with those around us.
A short video giving you a great example of how to "D" put someone to a "Decision" after you have shared the GOSPEL with them. This is the 4th step in the iPOD method of evangelism. It's important to make sure people know that for or against, either way, they are making a Decision. Get more info or pick up your own Prayer Stop at https://www.prayerstop.org/
This is a modernized version of the old hymn "His Eye Is On The Sparrow", by Audrey Assad, from her album "Heart". I often don't care for modernization of old hymns (I'm 59 years old, raised a Southern Baptist, sort of old-fashioned). My feeling is usually "it was fine the way it was, don't tinker with it". Well, in this case I'm glad that Audrey did tinker with it, it's a very refreshing rendition. "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" was one of my mom's favorite hymns, so this song brings back a lot of memories.
The lyrics are a paraphrase of the original hymn written by Civilla D. Martin, but the melody is entirely different than the original one composed by Charles H. Gabriel. Here's the interesting story about the origin of this song, in the words of the author Civilla Martin:
"Early in the spring of 1905, my husband and I were sojourning in Elmira, New York. We contracted a deep friendship for a couple by the name of Mr. and Mrs. Doolittle—true saints of God. Mrs. Doolittle had been bed
From her new album, "Where I Find You". Kari wrote this song along with Ben Glover and Matt Bronlewee. A lit bit more of a pop sound than her usual style, but as always, masterfully sung. The song reminds us that "when my hope is gone...when my faith is shaken", we can get on our knees and turn to God for comfort and guidance. He is always there.
This song was written by Brooke Fraser, now Brooke Ligertwood after her marriage, about awaiting Christ's glorious return. No one knows when that will happen, but the hope is that it will be "soon, and *very* soon". Of course the imagery of brides here is symbolic of the bride of Christ, His church.
From Casting Crowns' "Lifesong" album, a poignant song about how we are called to reach out to the hurting and love them as Jesus loves us. Often that is nothing more than simply listening and demonstrating that we sincerely care. Our tendency is to want to try to fix things, but as the song says, we don't have to have the answers to all of life's questions, other than to remember that God is always the best answer.
