This is a brief introduction to my God story. God has worked marvelously over the last 20 years in my life. I am finally now going to share my story with believers to encourage them in their faith. Levi Benkert was playing with his children in the park when he received an urgent phone call from a friend asking him to drop everything and fly to Ethiopia to help organize a rescue orphanage for children destined to be murdered as part of a tribal superstition known as “mingi killings.” Moved by his friend’s story, Levi packed his bags and left for what he thought would be a short two-week trip. But upon meeting the children, Levi knew there was no turning back.

Twenty-year-old American gymnast Shawn Johnson is a four-time Olympic gold and silver medalist; a national- and world-champion athlete. Already a popular role model to all ages, in 2009 she captured the national spotlight again when she won the widely popular Dancing with the Stars. Yet Shawn is no stranger to hard work and adversity.

America teeters on a precipice. In the midst of financial turmoil, political uncertainty, declining morality, the constant threat of natural disasters, and myriad other daunting challenges, many wonder what the future holds for this once-great nation. Will history’s greatest democracy stage a miraculous comeback, returning to the forefront of the world’s economic and spiritual stage? Can America’s religious past be repeated today with a third Great Awakening? Or will the rise of China, Russia, and other nations, coupled with the US’s internal struggles, send her into a decline from which there can be no return?

Like millions of other women, CNN’s Headline News and truTV’s In Session anchor Christi Paul blamed herself for the emotional abuse heaped on her by her first husband, whose violent, profanity-laced tirades left her feeling as though she had no value, no self-worth, and nowhere to turn for help.

Then one day, when Christi was taking refuge in a church parking lot, the verse “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” popped into her head. In that moment, she realized she did have someplace to turn after all. Holding fast to her faith, Christi began the arduous process of rebuilding her self-image and regaining control of her life.

Victoria Arlen became paralyzed at the age of 11 due to a spinal illness.

Sometimes raising teenagers can be like sending an astronaut into space. You may remember the very early space probes launched from Cape Canaveral in the 1960s that created anxiety for the safety of the astronaut. It was especially intense when the spacecraft was re-entering the earth's atmosphere.

Parents need to make a concerted effort to build bridges to their kids, starting very early to have fun as a family, laughing and talking and doing things that bond the generations together. That's the best way I know to disarm the teenage time bomb before the fuse is lit.

You know, there are those who believe so strongly in the value of positive thinking that they see nothing to be gained from that which is negative. Well, I respectfully disagree. It's the balance between the positive and the negative that provides the benefit. Let me illustrate.

Our Anniversary was on June 20th. It was our 20th Anniversary. So, for the first 19 days, I made a post on Facebook teelling my wife something I loved or admired about her each day. Day 20, I posted this video...

I saw a good cartoon recently that showed a double bed to which the wife had nailed vertical two-by-fours to both the headboard and the footboard right in the middle. When my uncle Beto died it was bitter-sweet. We all knew he was dancing with in the angels and in the arms of Jesus but we also knew he would be greatly missed. He reminded us that God is good and love is unconditional. No matter what kind of mood you were in his smile and excitement that you came made you so happy. Beto always made me feel like I was the one with the handicap not him - He was full of joy, innocence, and love!
