Vegetable Orchestra Play 'The Star-Spangled Banner'

The Long Island Vegetable Orchestra is not your ordinary assembly of musicians. These talented artists don't play standard instruments, they actually play music on various types of vegetables. There's everything from the squash horn to carrot flutes. And when you hear how all of these unique instruments blend together, you will be amazed. Just listen as they perform 'The Star-Spangled Banner.' I guarantee you've never heard it like this. It's obvious this group has put a lot of time and effort into their instruments and their music. I just can't believe all of the sound is coming from vegetables. I would have no idea if I wasn't seeing it for myself. What about you? Have you ever seen or played a unqiue instrument? I would love to see more performances like this one!

Brothers Save Woman Trapped In Sinking Car

It was an incredible day when two brothers rescued an elderly woman whose vehicle was sinking in a body of water. Seth and his brother, Matt was traveling home when they saw a sinking vehicle. A 61-year-old lady was traveling ahead of Seth and Matt when she drove through a puddle and lost control of her vehicle. She ended up sliding into a portion of the highway that was flooded with water. The waters were deep and her car started sinking. Thankfully, she was able to get out of her vehicle through the passenger window and climb onto the roof. The brothers did not see her slide but as they approached that end of the highway, they noticed that the vehicle was slowly sinking. They assumed that someone probably escaped the vehicle, but they wanted to be sure they no one was trapped. So they turned off their truck so that they can hear if anyone was screaming for help. And sure enough, they heard a voice coming from the vehicle, crying out in distress. By this time, the vehicle was almost fully submerged with the water rising up to the windows of the car. That is when Seth dove into the body of 30-degree water to swim to the car and help. Matt turned the truck back on so that the headlights would light the way for Seth. And Seth was able to rescue the lady from the roof and helped her swim to their truck. They gave her a warm blanket and even drove her home safely. Thank God these kind men were there to help!

Boy Wants To Be A Smartphone To Get Parent's Attention

As our society continues to advance, we become more and more dependent on technology. Sometimes, this is a great thing but other times it can become a distraction and take us away from living the life that's all around us. This teacher and her husband were reminded of this one evening and she sat and graded papers. The topic of the paper what 'What I Would Like To Be In This Modern World' and one student's report stopped this woman in the middle of grading. She began to read the words out loud to her husband and a young boy stated that he wanted to be a smartphone. He chose this device because it got all of his parent's attention, even when he was around. They were always looking at their phone and said that they love them so much that they don't even realize he's around sometimes. Both parents started to tear up at this powerful words but what really hit them hard was when their realized it was their own son that wrote the paper. This is such an important reminder to put down our phones and really live the way God intended. There is so much beauty in the world around us and it's just waiting to be seen.

2 Women Share Child Bride Stories

When we hear about child brides, our minds normally go to young women overseas. But this terrifying practice happens right here in the United States. Ashley Duncan and Holly Rehder were both married at the age of 15 in Missouri, where it is legal with the consent of a parent. Both women became pregnant and gave birth at a very young age. Holly is now a state legislator and she's hoping to bring stricter laws to help prevent marriage at such a young age. I am in complete shock that things like this can happen right in our own backyard. Marriage is a lifelong commitment and most teens are not ready for this covenant. Both women have since divorced, but they are speaking up now to bring awareness to this pressing issue. I'm so glad they are brave enough to shed light on child marriage. What courage and strength!

Cat Tries To Sneak Up On Squirrel

Even though this cat may be indoors, he still has his predatory senses. Just watch as he stares out the window before spotting something that caught his eye. There was a squirrel on the outside window sill that didn't have a care in the world. That's when the cat decided to pounce and tried to scare the squirrel from the inside. He tapped his paw and then jumped onto the sill but there was absolutely no reaction. The squirrel acted like he never even heard or saw the cat. I thought for sure the squirrel was going bolt as soon as he heard a loud noise or saw the cat, but I was completely wrong. He just keeps on munching on his treat like nothing has happened. Hopefully, this squirrel isn't a routine visitor because I can definitely see him driving the cat completely crazy. Does you cat ever do anything like this?

Facebook Scammer Turns Into Unlikely Friendship

Ben Taylor was immediately skeptical when he pulled up a Facebook message from a man in Liberia asking for money. He had heard of these types of scams before and had a strong dislike for them and how easily people can fall for these games. But Ben was curious, so he responded to the message asking how he could help. That's when he started a conversation with Joel, a man in Africa. Ben made a proposal to Joel. He said he would pay him to send pictures of the sunset in his country using his phone. Much to his surprise, Joel sent back a few blurry photos. That's when Ben decided to go out on a whim and send Joel a camera with instructions on how to take better photos. Joel came back with photos of his village in Liberia, but Ben was taken aback over the poor conditions. Ben decided to help Joel even more and turned all of the photos into a book and sell copies. He told Joel that he would send him half of the proceeds from the sales. The photo book sales went crazy and earned over $13,000 from buyers all over the country. Ben stuck to his word and gave Joel half of the sales but he wanted to use the other half to help out Joel's village. This is such an amazing story of an unlikely friendship with the best ending.

Baby Deer Rescued From Hole In Ground

Kevin was building carport for his vehicles when he dug a small hole in the ground that would be filled with concrete. The next time Kevin went outside, he heard an animal noise and it sounded like something was in distress. When he investigated, he found a fawn that had fallen in the hole. He called the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks, but ultimately, it was left up to Kevin to save the poor deer. He thought his granddaughter would like to see the rescue, so he handed his phone to a friend and they caught every second of this on camera. Just watch as Kevin reaches down and gently brings the fawn to the surface. I'm sure this sweet little deer was so scared to be alone and away from their mother. Thankfully, just minutes after the rescue, the fawn started bleating and the momma came running. They were able to reunite and now this fawn is safe with his mother in the wild. Thank goodness for the kindness of this man!

Little Big Shot Sings 'It's a Man's Man's Man's World'

Charlotte may be young but she's definitely got a big voice. Once you hear her sing, you won't even believe the sound that comes out of her. Today, Charlotte is taking her talents onto the Little Big Shots stage and it's absolutely incredible. Just watch as she steps out and starts to perform the classic James Brown song "It's a Man's Man's Man's World." That is one big voice for such a young girl. But with each and every note, you can feel the passion behind Charlotte's performance. This is definitely one you have to hear. Even Steve Harvey was shaking his head in disbelief. She is singing the words of the song and performing so confidently. It is hard to believe that she is so young. If she is this good now, imagine how she will be in a couple of years. What do you think of Charlotte's cover?

Single Mom Gets Special Thank You From Daughter

Most mothers truly do not get the thanks that they deserve. Each and every day, even when we don't realize, our moms are behind the scenes loving and supporting us and our dreams. That's exactly what happened with this young girl when she got accepted into the college of her dreams. But this girl was worried about how her single mom would be able to pay for the tuition. Mom told her not to worry about it and made sure that her daughter was able to live out her dreams. So, for years, this hardworking woman held 2 jobs and still made sure her daughter was fed and taken care of. Sometimes, it may seem like a thankless job, but when it finally came time for her daughter's graduation, the most amazing thing happened. Her daughter handed her a card and inside were the sweetest words of thanks and love. This Hallmark commercial definitely tugged at my heartstrings. Be sure to tell your mom how much you love her today!

Acoustic Rendition Of 'Good Good Father'

Chris Tomlin's worship song 'Good Good Father' swept the nation. Now, it's become one of the most iconic Christian songs and a favorite for other artists to cover. Powerful worship songs like 'Good Good Father' only come along once in a lifetime, so it's no wonder everyone enjoys singing it out loud. Today, the talented vocals of Lydia Shaw from Bethel Music Worship is singing this song and it's absolutely beautiful. God has truly given us so many blessings in this life and we give thanks to Him each and every day. God made the ultimate sacrifice for us when He sent His only Son to Earth to die for our sins. Because of this gift, we are now forgiven and free to live out our days in Heaven above. This amazing sacrifice paved the way to our salvation. This song is the perfect way to give praise to His name. Can I get an amen?

Adorable Puppies Teach Lesson On Generosity

Generosity is one of the most important attributes we can possess. And that's exactly what this organization set out to showcase. A philanthropic organization wanted to do a study on kindness and generosity and they used money and puppies to do it. The objective was to see what encourages people to be generous to one another. And I must say, this was the most adorable way to teach this lesson. There was a room with a pin full of puppies that were made available for people to play with. Individual groups of people were invited to cuddle and play with the puppies for 5 minutes. As soon as the door was opened for them to come in, everyone was so excited to jump in the pin. The puppies were so cute and fluffy! When their 5 minutes were up, a facilitator explained that in addition to what they were already being compensated for, they had an opportunity to keep an additional $50 or let someone else come in and play with the puppies for 5 minutes also. He explained that the people before them had the same offer, but that person chose to leave the $50 so that someone else can play with the puppies. Some people quickly passed on the $50. Others hesitated but 24 out of 25 of the people gave the fifty dollars back. The puppies gave them so much joy and happiness. They wanted others to share in the joy of playing with the puppies. What a powerful study.

Priest Sings 'Everybody Hurts' For Talent Audition

Father Ray Kelly went viral a few years ago when a video of him singing at a wedding was viewed millions of times. Now, this priest is taking his vocal skills to the big stage as he auditions for Britain's Got Talent. Father Kelly chose to perform R.E.M’s ‘Everybody Hurts’ because, as a minister of faith, he felt that he could relate to it. Everybody goes through tough times in their lives but it's how we move forward that truly matters. And as soon as Father Kelly started to sing, I knew this performance was going to be amazing. The very first note sent chills right up my spine. There's no doubt that Father Kelly has a God-given talent. This 64-year-old priest definitely has a voice and he's letting the whole world hear it. After this performance, there's no question that he's moving on to the next round. He even got a thumbs up from Simon. I can't wait to hear what he sings next!
