Longtime Jeopardy host Alex Trebek reveals that he is undergoing a second round of chemotherapy after health setback.
In March of 2019, beloved television personality Alex Trebek announced to the world that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. But he pledged to continue hosting Jeopardy and mustering up all of his strength to defeat the grim diagnosis.
The 79-year-old inspired viewers by opening up about the realities of cancer and the treatment he is undergoing. After finishing his first round of chemotherapy, Alex was making great progress and shifted to immunotherapy.
Sadly, his numbers skyrocketed and doctors informed the host that he would need to undergo another round of chemo. But, just as he always has, Alex is taking every moment in stride and keeping an optimistic attitude.
In fact, he hasn’t missed one single day of work since his diagnosis. “I talk to the audience sometimes and I get teary-eyed for no reason. I don’t even bother to explain it anymore, I just experience it. I know it's a part of who I am and I just keep going.”
And when it comes to facing the future, Alex opened up saying, "I realize that there is an end in sight for me, just as there is for everyone else. One line that I have used with our staff in recent weeks and months is that when I do pass on, one thing they will not say at my funeral is, 'Oh, he was taken from us too soon.' Hey guys. I’m 79-years-old."
This inspiring man is certainly in our thoughts and prayers during this time.
Classical singers Richard and Adam return to the Britain’s Got Talent stage for an inspiring performance of ‘The Power Of Love.’
We first met these two brothers when they audition for Britain’s Got Talent back in 2013. The former sandwich shop workers and cruise ship performers stunned the theater with their powerful rendition of ‘The Impossible Dream.’
After finishing in third place, the duo went on to release a number one album in the UK. Now, they are back on the stage that started in all as contestants on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions. This special format features 45 competitors from all of the Got Talent franchises.
For six weeks, these all-stars will battle it out to see who will be crowned the ultimate champion. The list of contenders includes past winners, finalists and fan-favorites. Just listen as Richard and Adam belt out the words to ‘The Power Of Love’ from Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
“The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
Flame on burnt desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal”
These brothers gave this classic pop song an opera makeover and it’s truly unlike anything I’ve heard before. Now, we’re all reminded how Richard and Adam made it so far in the competition the last time.
It was so amazing to see this duo back on stage as successful and seasoned performers. They have certainly come a long way since their initial audition and I have no doubt that they will continue to climb.
Faith in humanity was officially restored after one neighbor’s simple gesture for a boy with Down Syndrome went viral.
Six-year-old Finn enjoys walks with his family. He especially loves to look at all the flags blowing in the win.
His mom, Brooke, said, "If it's moving, if the wind is blowing, he would sit there for an hour and just watch the flag go back and forth, which is kind of the beauty of Finn, too." But one flag, in particular, always seemed to catch Finn’s eye.
Neighbor Todd Disque has a beautiful American flag mounted on a tree. The flag hangs overtop of the very sidewalk that Finn uses for his family walks. He would always stop to look at the mesmerizing display.
Sometimes, he would even sit down on the sidewalk and just stare. Todd noticed the interaction and decided that Finn needed a more suitable place to rest. That’s when he built a wooden stool just for the boy and placed it beside the tree.
When Finn was on one of his neighborhood walks, the simple stool brought his mother to tears. "It's such a small gesture, but things like this really restore your faith in humanity. Like, there's still good people out there that want to do kind things for no other reason than just to be kind."
It’s moments like these that truly remind us how something so small can make the biggest impact on others. Let us use this beautiful display to inspire us in our own acts of kindness.
One student choir made a captain’s last flight a moment to remember with a sweet impromptu serenade. Ronald Smith has been an airline pilot with United Airlines for 32 years.
Today, he’s on a flight from Chicago to Brussels and it will be his very last as a pilot. Ronald is set to retire, but not before receiving one final send off that he never saw coming.
When the student choir of the LGE (Lycée des Garçons d'Esch-sur-Alzette) heard about the pilot’s retirement, they decided to honor him in the best way they knew possible.
After other passengers disembarked, the choir remained behind. When Ronald came out, they stood in a semi-circle and began to sing the words of ‘Viva La Vida’ from Coldplay.
“I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning, I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own
I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!”
This contemporary tune was given a complete makeover as these teens perform an a cappella serenade. As the crew gathered around, it was truly a moment of honor for this pilot.
Moments like this are far too fleeting and it was such a blessing to see these students take a pause from their day to show this act of kindness. We wish Captain Ronald all the best in his retirement.
Salsa dancers Paddy and Nicko return to the Britain’s Got Talent stage for a routine that left everyone is awe.
We first met this unlikely duo when the competed on Britain’s Got Talent back in 2014. At the time, Paddy was 80 and she made quite the splash as an energetic salsa dancer with her younger partner, Nicko. The entertaining pair finished in ninth place and caught the attention of the world.
We learned that after Paddy’s husband died, she decided to take up dancing lessons. That’s where she met her teacher, a now partner, Nicko.
Today, Paddy is 85-years-old and she is currently the Guinness World Record holder for the 'Oldest Acrobatic Salsa Dancer.’ But age doesn’t mean a thing and Paddy and Nicko are out to prove that once again.
They are back on the stage that started it all as contestants on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions. This special format features 45 competitors from all of the Got Talent franchises.
For six weeks, these all-stars will battle it out to see who will be crowned the ultimate champion. The list of contenders includes past winners, finalists and fan-favorites.
After the toe-tapping performance, judge David Williams couldn’t contain his joy. “This is one of the most joyous, most beautiful, most life-affirming acts we’ve ever had on Britain’s Got Talent. So let’s not mess about. Let’s do this for everybody here.”
That’s when he stood up and pressed the coveted golden buzzer for the beloved couple. What an incredible moment for this inspiring duo!
In this acappella cover of ‘Don’t Stop Believin’,’ the group VoicePlay performs the iconic song alongside students at Camp A Cappella.
“Just a small town girl
Livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere”
Everyone knows the words to this Journey song, and it is hard not to sing along to it whenever you hear the music. As soon as that first line hits, everyone always seems to jump in!
The members of VoicePlay look like they are having such a fun time in this video while they are singing with the kids at Camp A Cappella, the first and largest a cappella camp in the world. And the campers are smiling from ear to ear and having such a great time singing as well. They are in their element!
The song has such a full sound with all of the voices contributing, and you can feel the fun energy that is exuding from everyone in the video when you listen to the music. The harmonies are wonderful, and the different parts really add to the song.
Singing can bring great joy to yourself and to those around you. All throughout scripture, singing and music are mentioned many times when talking about joy, and it’s a wonderful gift that God has given us. What a blessing it is to make music and listen to music that others have created!
Psalm 27:6
“Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.”
Psalm 132:9
“May your priests be clothed with your righteousness; may your faithful people sing for joy.”
When shinning some light on what you should look for in a man, the answer kept coming back to God in one way or another. Truth, light and honesty as well.
Kamal Imani is the author of the book "Let's Bring Back the Butterflies".
The a cappella men of Vocality perform a barbershop rendition of ‘Come Fly With Me’ by Frank Sinatra.
Frank Sinatra continues to be one of the most recognized jazz musician names in the entire world. The popular blue-eyed crooner grabbed hearts in America and later internationally through both a singing career and fame in Hollywood.
Over the years, many artists have lent their voices to the songs that Frank made famous. But these iconic songs are always a risky choice for a performer.
Thankfully, this barbershop quartet had no issue belting out these iconic words.
“Once I get you up there
Where the air is rarefied
We'll just glide
Starry-eyed
Once I get you up there
I'll be holding you so near
You might hear
All the angels cheer because we're together”
It is extremely difficult to perform a song without any musical backing, but these talented men make it look effortless. As they surround the microphone, their vocals blend together perfectly to create a unique rendition of this classic.
“Weather-wise, it's such a lovely day
Just say those words and we'll feed those birds
Down to Acapulco Bay
It is perfect for a flying honeymoon, they say
Come on fly with me, we'll fly, we'll fly away, we'll fly”
It’s obvious that these men are very talented. These a cappella arrangements take a lot of time and effort, but it posed no issue for Vocality. They knocked this Frank Sinatra song out of the park.
Who else wants to hear more from this barbershop quartet?
The inspiring dance group V Unbeatable returns to the America’s Got Talent stage for a jaw-dropping semifinal performance.
We first met this talented ensemble when they defied the air with their initial audition. This dance crew ranges in ages from 12 to 27.
In total, there are 28 members in V.Unbeatable and many of them come from the slums of Mumbai. In these areas, there is no electricity and the conditions are very dirty.
Sometimes there are seven or more people in one area that is barely meant for two. There are not many opportunities to advance in the slums, but this group found comfort and support through dance.
Their first audition left the theater in awe and America was immediately a fan. Now, they are back for an unforgettable semifinal performance full of flips and twists like we’ve never seen before.
This fast-paced routine is a combination of dance and acrobatics with epic high-flying tricks. And just when you think they cannot get any higher in the air, the dance crew pulled out the ladder.
The longer the routine continues, the better it truly gets. I could barely keep up, let alone imagine actually completing these maneuvers. And just when you think the entire routine is over, the group kicks it up another notch for the grand finale.
V.Unbeatable is definitely pulling out all the stops for a chance at the America’s Got Talent. It’s obvious that they left everything on the stage.
Do you think this dance crew has what it takes to win the entire competition?
Stephanie Sosa performs a beautiful contemporary routine to Lauren Daigle’s ‘You Say’ on So You Think You Can Dance.
In 2018, Christian artist Lauren Daigle took the music scene by storm with this powerful single. The poignant lyrics and inspirational message reached a multitude of ears in both the Christian and secular music scene.
‘You Say’ quickly climbed to the top of the Christian billboard charts and received multiple award nominations. This worship song is a reminder of how God never stops believing in us.
“You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don't belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe, oh I believe
What You say of me
Oh, I believe”
Today, Stephanie Sosa is putting her own unique spin on ‘You Say’ with an incredible contemporary dance routine. Stephanie is a contestant on the sixteenth season of So You Think You Can Dance.
As a trained ballroom dancer, Stephanie is stepping into a new genre with this contemporary dance. Robert Roldan, an all-star dancer, joins Stephanie and the pair gracefully glides across the stage to these stirring lyrics.
The moves that these dancers are doing match so beautifully with the truth that Lauren Daigle is singing in ‘You Say.’ And they make the difficult moves look so effortless. What an incredible interpretation of this modern day worship anthem.
It’s a hilarious moment captured on camera when this baby says ‘Mama’ for the first time after reading all about ‘Dada.’
We can all agree that the birth of a child is a very special moment for any parent. After nine months of waiting, you are able to finally meet your precious baby for the first time. There is joy, happiness and probably some tears.
From that moment on, the infant is loved and cared for by their parents. Many babies have an instant bond with their mothers, since they have known them even before birth.
For fathers, their parenting starts once the baby is welcomed into the world. Then, they take on the role of protector and provider. This dad is hoping to create an extra special bond with his little one by making her very first words be ‘Dada.’
That’s when he reads her a book all about fathers and the word ‘Dada’ is repeated over and over again. Thinking this will be a surefire way to be the first word, he ends the book and looks at his daughter. But the little cutie already has a sense of humor and she immediately shouts out ‘Mama.’
Both parents cannot contain their laughter at this ironic and hilarious moment. Thankfully, the entire scene plays out on camera and now we all get to laugh together.
You truly cannot control what comes out of a child’s mouth and they definitely have the ability to say the most unlikely things.
Did your child or grandchild ever do anything like this?
This video provides the viewer hope by letting them know that regardless of what they are going through, God will see them through it and if they just hold on they will see Joy in the Morning.

Light painter Alex Dowis moves the judges with his beautiful tribute to first responders during the America’s Got Talent semifinals.
40-year-old Alex Dowis is an artist from the Czech Republic. Prior to his impressive audition on AGT, Alex competed on the Czech/Slovak version of Got Talent in 2012.
This talented performer placed second in the competition. But now, Alex has traveled all the way to The United States to showcase his unique light-painting skills.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen a tribute to the moon landing and the evolution of humanity displayed beautifully through light. But it is his semifinal performance that truly left everyone in awe.
Alex used his visual display to create a moving tribute to the first responders of September 11th. As the story unfolds before our eyes, it’s hard not to shed a tear. The entire world remembers where they were that fateful day and it is a moment that will forever be etched in time.
Alex did a tremendous job of honoring these brave first responders and it just shows how art can truly make you feel emotions you never knew. Even though some of these men and women may no longer be with us on this earth, we can take comfort knowing that they are safe in the arms of the Lord.
And this beautiful tribute is the perfect way to show respect and admiration for our first responders. We thank each and every one of you for your service and you’re continued effort to save the lives of others.
One news anchor is speaking out after a viewer shames her for wearing high-waisted pants.
Maggie Vespa is a TV anchor for KGW-TV in Portland, Oregon. Recently, Maggie made headlines when she took to the air to address a viewer’s comments on her appearance.
After the weekend anchor wore a pair of high-waisted pants during a broadcast, a gentlemen was compelled to write in on Facebook. “Just wanted to let you know that the clothes you've been wearing, especially those crazy pants that ride half way up your torso, are not cool looking, in any way! ... You're way too pretty to look so foolish.”
Maggie was taken aback by the man’s message and she replied back that she enjoyed wearing those pants and she would not be changing her wardrobe. After the viewer wrote back a second time, she decided to address the situation on air.
She shared the second message, which said, “Try dressing like a normal woman. Doesn't KGW pay you enough for a wardrobe makeover?"
As a female in the broadcast industry, Maggie knows all too well about the objectification of women. She wanted to stand up for herself and make sure that other women in similar situations know that this type of comment is not okay. She ended the broadcast with one final statement.
“Dress how you want, look how you want, and if anybody tries to make you feel less than because of that, that’s their problem.” What do you think about this viral story?
