After their hit single, “Priceless”, became a radio hit and the theme to their debut movie (by that same name), for King & Country now uses the song as a catalyst to raise awareness of human trafficking, as January is Human Trafficking Awareness month.
Joel and Luke Smallbone take the success created from “Priceless” to encourage fans to get involved in the 30 for 30 Challenge. As the band lays it out, they are asking fans to take 30 seconds a day for 30 days to do simple acts of kindness showing love, honor and respect for another person, to share stories to help raise awareness of Human Trafficking.
How did the Smallbones find themselves involved in this type of campaign? First, it was scripturally justified, as God said to come to the aid of the oppressed. But the band gave us some personal history to let us know just how much skin they have in the game.
It was at a Women's conference led by our eldest sister Rebecca St. James that we first shared the message behind priceless. Later we put that message into song and we've since seen God do amazing things. A simple message reminding us that we are priceless in God's eyes has become one of the most important songs we've ever written.
In honor of Human Trafficking Awareness month, we're challenging everyone to get involved with A21 Campaign to help us raise awareness for the estimated 30 million lives caught in modern day slavery. For joining our 30 day challenge, we are offering a chance to win a Flyaway trip to one of our upcoming shows including 2 VIP Passes + Hotel stay. We'll also have weekly winners earn some of our favorite Priceless merch!
We all have a role to play in reminding the world God's view of people's true worth.
Kindness can have its rewards, as participation enters fans into a drawing for a getaway for a VIP experience with the band on tour.
