Who Gets the Glory?– Beloved Women – August 20, 2019
“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen”—1 Timothy 1:17 NKJV
How often do we give credit to others when things go well or remember to thank God for our successes? Do we forget in the midst of the accolades, believing it was our talent and skills, that made it possible? I have done this.
When we forget to give glory to God, Joseph gives an excellent example of giving credit where credit is due. When Pharaoh asked Joseph about his ability to interpret dreams, Joseph replied:
“Joseph answered Pharaoh, "It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer." - Genesis 41:16 ESV
As we excel and find success in life, let’s be like Joseph and ascribe all the glory to God.
My Father and Lord, I recognize that all that I am is because of your grace and mercy. Father, may I never forget this and always ascribe all glory and honor to your Holy Name. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray, Amen.
Take a moment today to thank God for all He has done. Look for opportunities to let people know all you’ve achieved was due to God’s grace and mercy.
