When Sadie was just a little girl, the hit TV show Duck Dynasty aired. We watched her go on dates, shop for dresses for school dances, and play basketball. Today, however, the 28-year-old has grown into a blossoming young adult: a mom, author, speaker, and podcaster.
Heavily influenced by the life of her grandpa, Phil Robertson, his passing in May of 2025 was difficult, but hopeful. Just before he passed, Sadie had the opportunity to talk with Phil about life, faith, and, of course, ducks.
“I told him I was about to go preach at Passion, which is a really big conference,” she said. “And he was like, ‘Oh, that’s really cool.’ But then he said, ‘It’s so important that no matter who comes into your house — from the richest to the poorest — you make sure the message stays the same.’”
A week before his death, Phil told Sadie, “full strength ahead.” As season 2 of Duck Dynasty is set to premiere March 7th, 2026, on A&E, the season highlights a tribute to Phil, the birth of Sadie’s 3rd daughter, Kit, and the love of Jesus. Rather than focusing on the funeral or grief, the Louisiana-based family chose to celebrate Phil’s life with his favorite foods, traditions, and stories.
“I would encourage people, if they’ve lost a loved one, yes, a funeral is to celebrate their life and to mourn and all of those things,” Huff said. “But to have a day where you focus in on the legacy that they lived and the things that were special to them, or even just fun to them, it was really, really, really special.”
When asked about her feelings regarding the season 2 release, Sadie’s words reveal not only the legacy Phil wrote on her heart, but what she hopes to write on others:
“I hope the most important thing they see is our love for Jesus and how to share about Jesus,” she said. “That’s something we just do so naturally in our home. It’s the overflow of who we are.”
“Duck Dynasty: The Revival” Season 2 airs Saturday, March 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on A&E.
